We got home on May 5th a little after noon. Hudson was barely a day old! We were ready to be home. Shortly after we got home, we changed Hudson for the first time in his room. It was very comical. Lily was sitting on the dresser to watch, Matt was changing him, and I was there for moral support. :) Hudson kept pooping as Matt was cleaning him and then he started peeing. It hit the wall and almost got Lily. We were all laughing and of course he was screaming! We will never forget the first diaper change at home!!!
Matt's parents and Emily arrived soon after. They were excited to meet Hudson for the first time.
Then Scott and Caden arrived with Eliza, Virgie, and the girls soon after.
Hudson is already a great little brother. He got Lily a purse with lipstick and eye shadow. She loved it and couldn't wait to put it on anyone that would let her!
I was worried how Lily would transition from being the only child to having a baby in the house. On Saturday, she was very emotional. She wasn't jealous, she was wanting to be the one to hold him at all times. Every time someone different held him, her eyes swelled up with tears and she came over to me. We want to make this a good transition for her, so we tried to give her a lot of attention. She was so worried about Hudson, that she would tear up whenever he would cry. I think she thought his crying meant he was hurting. Seeing her like that made me emotional as well. I am so blessed to have such a caring little girl.
Grandma Jackie had gotten Lily a kite, so Matt took that out with Lily. It was very windy, so the kite went crazy!!
We enjoyed having everyone over. When they left, it was a neat feeling knowing that all four of us were alone together. Lily finally got her undisturbed holding time in. Hudson has been getting many, many kisses.
On Sunday, Hudson got to meet Uncle John, Aunt Laurie, Maverick, and Maguire!
We had another great afternoon. Matt grilled steaks and everyone passed around Hudson. He was such a good baby and slept almost the whole time.
