Weekend Fun!

The Elsbury clan had a nice and relaxing weekend. Lily and Daddy got some time to hang out.

Look at that adorable little smile. She thinks she can get what she wants when she flashes her little tongue. ha ha!

On Saturday we went to Uncle Jack's 60th birthday party outside of Genoa. It was nice to see him and his family and we had a good time visiting with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Gigi. Lily was such a good baby and Gigi was able to put her to sleep with a band playing right next to them in the garage.

The band was pretty good. They had to set up in the garage because it started to rain.

It takes two of them to put a sleeping baby in the carseat. ha ha!

On Sunday we put our summer clothes on and hung out in the sun. Daddy mowed, then Lily and I went shopping to get a walker and swimming pool. Of course, then we had to try both of them out. Enjoy the cute pics below!

I love this one!

I'm done with my first summer class!

It's Friday afternoon and I am chilling out on the couch listening to Lily babble in her crib (aka, taking a nap). My class got done early and it was a great class. Two more this summer! We are anxiously waiting to see how John, Laurie, and the boys are enjoying Disney World in Orlando. Our prayers are with them while they are making many memories. I can imagine the boys right now wanting to go in every direction. Fun, fun!

I was cleaning the kitchen and making something to eat the other night, and thought: Lily hasn't played with pots and pans! So, I sat her down with two pots and spoons to see what she would do.

She banged them a couple of times, and had fun doing it. She was so cute. I like watching her experience new things. We hope to go swimming soon. This time in a pool and no sand. Maybe mommy and daddy will even put their suits on. ha ha!

Asia's baby shower and fun at the Lake

Friday morning:

Lily takes a morning nap, and this is how I found her one day. She likes to peak through the boards of the crib. She was so happy to see me.

What a big girl sitting on her changing table.

Saturday was a fun filled day. I had Asia's baby shower at our house with a bunch of teachers. Matt didn't think that was a place for him, so he mowed the lawn and took Oasis swimming. Around 20 people came for the shower and we had a lot of fun talking and playing games. Lily got to play with Shelley's daughter, Faith, and Jen's son, Brody. Asia got a lot of cute things for her baby girl. We are so excited to meet her and Brian's baby the end of July. Lily will then have someone else to play with.

After the nice morning, we got ready to go to Starostka's lake in Kearney. They have a nice setup there, it was neat. We ate burgers and brats and enjoyed the lake. Brett, Amy and their boys were there. Gordon and Steph, Dave and Chris, and some other couples were there. Matt got to water ski and we rode the jet ski a little bit. Lily got her bikini on for the first time and played in the water. She really liked it, especially digging her feet into the sand. Carson was also there to play with. He sure likes Lily and can make her smile. Later, Dave was able to put Lily to sleep and she took a short nap in her stroller. We had a great evening.

Matt then worked Sunday morning and the rest of the day was very relaxing.

Three men and a baby. Gordon, Brett, and Matt with Lily

Dave had the touch putting Lily to sleep by the fire.

Lily and myself playing with Carson. This is Lily's first experience in sand. Surprisingly, she didn't try putting any of it in her mouth. She liked when I covered her feet.

Yeah, she's swimming!

Cute bikini, Lily! She was really "studying' the situation. ha ha

Our day of visiting

Lily and I had a full day of visiting family and friends. We went to Kearney to visit Grandma at work. She had fun showing Lily to all of her friends. But, we all know Lily and she was busy studying everybody and didn't give too many smiles away.

We had to let Grandma get back to work, so we headed to see Aunt Kathy. She was happy to see us and even took us out to lunch. Lily did a fine job eating her baby food while we enjoyed our food and visiting. Next, we hopped on over to see Amy, Carson, and Collin. Collin is 2 weeks old now and such a sweetie. He seems so tiny. In fact, Lily was never as small as him. She was 2 lbs. heavier. Ha ha! We had a nice visit. They are such a cute family.

Last, we drove to see Grandpa. He was cultivating in the field, so we took him a pop and rode with him for a few rounds. All the bumps put Lily to sleep. Grandpa is sure keeping himself busy when it isn't raining.

Lily and I finally got back home in time for some tummy time before Daddy got home. She really wants to crawl, but hasn't figured out how to do it. Then, it hailed once again. We got a few big pieces, but I don't think any damage.

Welcome to our Blog!!!!

Blogging is new to me, so we will see if I can get a hang of this. The Elsbury Clan is: Matt, Abby, and Lily (and Oasis)! We were talking the other day about the word "family" and how it has a whole new meaning to us now. We are apart of our families, but now we have created our own family as well.

Lily turned 7 months old yesterday! Oh my goodness. Here are a few pictures of our growing little girl.

We went "down South" to see Cropa Brad's corn after the hail storm. Sorry Cropa and Grandma, it didn't look too hot.

This is a picture of Grandpa's corn before he was able to replant beans.

Lily loves swinging. Isn't this a sweet picture?

Can you imagine what she is working on? Ha ha

Lily and I made a stepping stone for Daddy. She helped me by putting her hand print in the cement so nicely.
