It's Friday, Friday, Friday!

This week took forever.  It could be because Matt was gone all week, that it got cold and it was hard to climb out from the covers every morning, or I kept putting off my homework until just an hour ago!  I don't know.  I am just glad the week is finally over.

Lily had two days of school today and dance class.  So, she is becoming a busy little girl.  They were working on the letter 'N' at preschool.  She can tell you what sound it makes and that Nebraska and Nancy both start with N.  :)  She is getting really good at writing her name.  She didn't quite like the monkey tails and fish hook on her y, but she is getting used to it.

Oh, it could have been a long week, because every day I heard that Lily did not eat her lunch.  We are having such an issue with that at Heather's.  She eats just fine for us, so its hard to get her to do something when we aren't with her.  So, I dug into my toolbox of teacher ideas and decided to start a sticker chart for her.  So, she got to pick out some cool stickers at Walmart (Tangled and Tinkerbell).  She ate lunch the next day and got to put a sticker on.  Yay!!  I thought we found something that worked, but then she didn't eat yesterday.  So, we will continue to see if this works.

Man, its cold outside!  Fall is my favorite season, but I don't like how the temperature changed so drastically.  Wasn't it just 90 degrees last week?  I did get to visit with one of my best friends, Shannon this week.  What a nice surprise to get her call.  She is 30 weeks pregnant, due November 21st.  I am so excited for her.  It turns out that a lot of my friends are preggo.  I guess we are at that age that we all start multiplying.  :)

Well, I apologize for this random post.  Thank you for stopping by!  If you watch the Husker game tomorrow, look for me under the East awning.  I will be wearing a grey Husker sweatshirt! :)

Go Huskers!!!

First Day of Preschool

The day came that we had to send our baby to school.  Lily has been so excited for Preschool!  I took off the morning so I could take her to school and be there when she gets done.  She was ready so fast this morning with her pretty school dress and shoes on.  She put her last sticker on the calendar, school was finally here!!!

Since this is my first go around for First Day of School pics, I wanted to make sure I captured it all.  I know the progression of pictures through out the years will be priceless, thats why I really like the one by the tree.  Just think how big that tree will be when she is in high school!  Aw man, this mommy can't even imagine her that old!

We were early to her preschool.  I thought it started at 8:00, but its 8:15.  You'd think I would have been prepared and new the starting time.  ha ha.

Lily in front of her school sign!

Mrs. Thede is showing her how to put her fish into the fish bowl every morning.

The bad thing of taking off the whole morning and waiting for her to get done is that I constantly thought about it.  I will admit, I was a little sad and may have shed a couple tears.  Its hard to drop your baby off to someone new knowing that this is only the beginning.  I did enjoy my morning with a cinnamon bagel, internet surfing, pedicure, and shopping. :)

All the cute little Preschoolers walking out in a line.

She IS Special!!!  Her first day was a success and she is so excited to go back.  In fact she was mad at me on Thursday that we weren't going to school.  :)

The three Amigos!!  Paislee, Lily, and Aysha
I headed back to work and Heather took the 3 girls to celebrate their first day at McDonald's.  What a great person!!!!  They had fun, just look at them! :)

Lily will go to Preschool every Monday-Wednesday from 8:15-11:00.  She now knows all 52 letters (capital and lowercase) and knows some of their sounds and words that start with some of the letters.  She is getting really good at numbers too.  Although if you ask her how old she is, she might say 4 since all of her friends are 4 now and soon her cousin Sydney.

Lily is such a joy to have in our lives and we are excited for this new adventure.  I'm sure she will amaze us with what she learns from Mrs. Thede.

Teal Duck Hunting

Teal duck hunting started this weekend.  Matt has been so excited for Fall, so hunting season and Football season would be here.  Early Saturday morning, Matt and Josh went duck hunting by Fairfield.  They came home with their limit!

That afternoon we had the Leth's over for the football game.  I am excited for the Husker season to finally be here.  That evening we had a visitation for Doris Ganz.  She is my Uncle Jim's mother, such a dear lady.  So, we went to Kearney that evening to see the family and then her funeral was on Sunday.

This morning, (Labor Day), Matt woke Lily up at 4:30 to take her teal hunting.  She had told him the night before she wanted to, so he set out all her hunting clothes the night before.  I can't believe she got up that early, but they did!

Matt bought a camo sled at Cabela's so Lily could sit in it and not get wet.  He will be able to use it to haul his decoys on his next hunting trips.  He says that she sat in it so nice and even laid dow.  By this picture, they had gotten two ducks.  Do you see them on his hunting bag?

Here are the hunters, Lily and Oasis.  They got their limit, so they were done for the day!  What a trooper!

How many did you get Lil??
The hunters!  Lily enjoyed her first hunting experience.  Daddy is thrilled that he has a hunting partner.  I wonder what their next hunting trip will be?

2011 NE State Fair

On Friday, we planned to go to the State Fair.  Lily and I were there first in the rain.  The parking lot was so muddy, but we made it through.  Mom and Dad met us there and we walked around in the EXPO building for a little bit.  Matt was meeting us there shortly after he got into town.

We were going to wait by the camel for Matt, when Mom got sick.  She was dehydrated and had lost all her energy and her blood pressure had dropped drastically.  The ambulance took her to St. Francis where they gave her two bags of fluid.  We stayed at the fair and kept in contact with Dad on her progress.  Good thing there was a great medical team at the Fair that took care of her.

Virgie later joined us on her way home from Omaha.  We had a great time.  The rain had stopped (it started up a little bit later), and it was a nice evening.

Petting Zoo

Camel Ride

Lily's first ride, all by herself!!!  She picked the purple helicopter.

I got to go with her on the second ride.  She calls it the coller coaster.  This was so much fun because there is one part where it goes down fast and does a sharp turn.  She screamed so loud and then belly laughed.  I couldn't stop laughing at her. :)

Daddy and Lily on the bumper cars.

In the Birthing Pavillion.  I think this is the best idea.  There were baby pigs, lambs, and cows.

Largest Steer in NE.  I got this picture to show Uncle John.  He was huge.

Ha Ha, I took a picture of Lily as the Pig in a Bag, but for some reason that picture didn't upload.  But, good ol' Daddy's photo did!  :)

Lily loved the coller coaster so much that she took Gigi on it too.

I tried to capture them on the fast part.  You can kinda see them!
Game time

Well, Matt and Gigi did not get any animals for Lily.  She got herself one because the guy let her get down and pop one herself.  ha ha!

So, all in all, we had a great night.  We wish my parents could have enjoyed it with us because we had been planning it all week.  Mom is doing fine now, she went to her doctor on Saturday night and got things worked out.
