Island Oasis

Lily and I got to hang out with Gma, Gpa, Aunt Gigi, Aunt Laurie, Mav, Mullen, and Guire on Wednesday and Thursday. We went to the movies on Wednesday night and we watched "Space Chimps." Lily did a great job sitting through her first movie. On Thursday we all helped Gpa build fence around the sweet corn. The three boys were a great help. We then all packed up and headed to Island Oasis for the afternoon. With all the excitement, the picture above is the only one I took of the whole two days. Sorry. Everybody had a great time swimming, going down slides, and relaxing down the lazy river. I think we all got a little sun too. Except Grandma, she hung out under the umbrella. Someone has to hold a sleeping baby! :)

Have a great weekend!!!!!!!

Fun, Fun, Fun

Lily is modeling her new swimming suit. I was getting her ready for swimming lessons. This is also her new favorite position on the couch, standing!

Aunt Jessica came to visit us on Monday. She was in GI for an interview and then ate supper with us.

Lily was wiped out from swim lessons and playing with Jessica.

This is Lily trying to crawl to Daddy. She can almost do it!

Cousin, Landon, came to play with Lily today! He is getting so big. Lily loved watching him and they talked to each other, in their own language!! ha ha! It was cute.

I love this picture!!!!

Landon is brushing Lily's hair so nicely!

Fun with the Ferzelys!

Well, not a lot has happened since I last posted. I finished all my summer classes last week and now am finally enjoying my summer. The Ferzelys came through Gibbon on their way back from Estes, so we went there to visit. Us ladies and Caden went swimming at the baby pool in Gibbon and the men went golfing. It was a nice day in the sun.

Today, Lily and I just got done with our first Parent/Child swimming lesson. Lily played with a diving ring and kicked and splashed. She was asleep in her carseat before we left the parking lot.

It is always fun to put Syd and Lily in front of each other. They get so excited and flap their arms. Syd squeals and of course Lily growls.

I thought this was cute. Caden was Uncle Matt's buddy. Uncle Matt is definitely the favorite with all the boy cousins. Nice haircut Caden!!!

Whee!

The girls loved the water. Caden and Delanie were little fish.

This is so much fun!

The sun was a little bright for Lily.

Aunt Eliza and Lily.

I love this "cheese" picture. Lily loved standing on the side of the pool. She would growl like crazy!

Myself and the kiddos, Delanie, Caden, and Lily!

Sydney and Lily were sharing cheetos.

What is in there, Sydney? Any surprises? ha ha!

Grandpa and Syd.

Cade Man and Aunt Abby

Uncle Scott and Aunt Eliza, there is not enough room for both of us big babies in Syd's carseat.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Brad!

Time has gotten away from me as I am trying to complete my second of three grad classes this summer. I wanted to wish Grandpa Brad a happy birthday from the Elsbury clan!!!! (His birthday was yesterday!) The Elsbury's bought some bikes the other day and are loving them. Matt and I each bought a Schwinn and Lily bought a "little tent on wheels." She really enjoys riding in it, even though she is a little small for it. We are now officially a cute little family on wheels! ha ha!

Since my last post, Mullen had another health scare. A day does not go by that I am not thinking about him and praying for a miracle. If you are reading this, please take a minute to raise Mullen up in prayer. As I type this, I keep picturing his little grin that captures my heart in an instant.

Lodgepole and Fourth of July!

On our way home we stopped at Kimball for Matt to check on the Pamida out there. It is already built, so he was just checking on the last touches to see if they got done. It is amazing to see how much goes into building a Pamida from beginning to end.

Kimball is not too far from Lodgepole, so we got to jet out to the ranch. We were luckily able to see John, Laurie, and the boys before they left for Bruce's wedding in Kansas. All three boys were sunburnt from helping their dad with the cows and riding the four wheeler. They all received a haircut from John before we arrived. John and Laurie gave Matt and I a quick show of their office. It is looking great and has big windows for them to see the ranch as they are sitting at their desks. Lily had fun seeing her cousins and they even got her a gift from Disney World, which they had tons of fun at.

Maguire, Lily, and Mullen

July 3rd, Aunt Laurie's birthday!!! Lily loves to play with Aunt Laurie's necklace that Mullen made her.

I had been hearing about all the memorabilia Mullen had been getting, but never saw it. So, Mullen gave me the low down of all his cool stuff. Maverick loves it all too.

Lily with Maguire and her new Minnie Mouse. Thanks boys!!!!!

Our plan that night was to see the Kearney fireworks from the Starostka lake. So, since we loved driving so much and had done a lot of it, we decided to just go straight there instead of going to GI and back. Brett, Amy, and their boys were there and a bunch of Starostkas. They grilled burgers for us and once again Matt water skiied. Lily, Carson, and I played in the sand. Lily fell asleep before the fireworks in my arms, but we were able to see them pretty good.

Carson and Lily

Matt and Brett belly up to the bar!

On Friday, July 4th, the Elsbury clan got ready and surprised Grandpa, Grandma, and Gigi at the Gibbon parade. The parade was nice, but the ice cream at the church was better. :) In fact, Lily got her first taste of ice cream from Daddy, Grandpa, and Aunt Gigi. I wasn't too thrilled, but it didn't hurt her! We were then invited to Gangwish's house for lunch and enjoyed visiting with them. Then we went back to Mom and Dad's for the rest of the day. At night, we went into Shelton for the fireworks. They have them at the football field, so we drove up to the NW corner and parked there. I'll say, we were just a little close. We were getting hit with debris left and right, but it was a great show. Of course the finale was my favorite. Once again, Lily was asleep and managed to stay asleep in the car as the fireworks were going off.

Lily liked Grandpa's baby kittens.

Lily's first four wheeler ride. Daddy drove around the house with her a couple of times. It was cute.

On July 5th, we went back to the farm because John, Laurie, the boys, and their new puppy, Polo, were there. We had a fun time hanging out with them and playing outside. Polo is so cute. Kiki didn't like her being there though and we got to witness a cat/dog fight.

Polo and Guire.

The boys liked lighting the snakes, but it was hard to find a spot out of the wind.

Maverick and Maguire had fun with Lily. We missed Mully outside. He wasn't feeling well and wanted to be inside where it was cool and where he could rest. The Elsbury's pray everyday for our dear Mully.

Maguire took off with my camera and took this picture. It looks like Lily doesn't want me to tell you her secrets.

Lily layed like this on Mav's belly for quite awhile. Daddy and Mommy were playing catch with Maguire.

Grandpa loves to put his hat on Lily. I have a few of these pictures already.

In closing, we had a great fourth of July weekend! The icing on the cake would have been if the Ferzelys could have been there. They are leaving this next weekend for Estes Park, so they decided to cut back on the driving back and forth. Geez, its not like gas is $4.00! ha ha! I am anxious to hear about their trip to Estes.

Our Vacay to SD, WY, and western NE

Matt needed to see the progress of the Pamidas going up in Custer, SD and Buffalo, WY, so Lily and I decided to take the drive with him. It was a little Elsbury family vacay (even though it was a lot of driving). Lily did an awesome job driving that far with us. I think she prefers Daddy's pickup so she can see out the window. We left GI on Tuesday morning and got to Custer around 5:30 or so. Along the way, we went through a state park with buffalo in it.

These were some of the neat rocks we saw during our drive.

See how happy she was! I think she was more patient on the long drive than Mommy was! At least that is what Daddy thinks. ha ha!

We got into our hotel and Matt went to see how the Pamida was coming along. Lily and I played in the hotel and she was happy to roll around on the floor and take a little nap. When Matt got back we ate supper at a steak house and then drove 30 minutes or so to Mount Rushmore. At night they have a ceremony thing and light up the faces. It was neat. I had never been there and Matt hadn't for a long time. Lily was tired and didn't exactly know why there were so many people standing and looking at rocks in the dark.

We got up early Wednesday morning, July 2nd (our 3rd anniversary) to drive to Buffalo, WY. Our excitement for this drive was seeing the forest that had many spots that had a fire and seeing all the antelope. They are absolutely everywhere. In some places that was the only sign of life we could see in Wyoming. :)

We stopped every 2-3 hours to stretch, eat, or play. Lily had fun sitting in her bebe pod in the middle of Daddy's pickup. We had fun posing with her too!

We thought it would be more fun for us and her if she could sit in the front with us for the rest of the drive.

Just joking!!!!

We did stop to shop once at an outlet store. Here Lily is riding a bear! I think she was just excited to get out of the carseat.

WYOMING! Boring! I'm sure there is an antelope somewhere in that picture. This is actually an exciting picture of Wyoming. I think we are almost into Nebraska!
