Precious Moments

I absolutely love my daughter!!! We are enjoying this summer to the fullest! I am thinking of putting this picture in her frame in the living room.

Another thing I love is when people play with my hair. Good thing Lily likes to play "hair cutter girl." ha ha She found every single barrett she owns and put them in my hair. As I am typing this, I still have them in. It took her so long to do it, that I don't have the heart to take them out. Hmmmm, I think I will wait until Matt gets home from Houston tonight to show him. Hot, I know! :)

3 inches!!!!

Friday night we got 3 inches of rain. We are such sound sleepers that we didn't hear all the thunder that everyone was talking about. Josh told Matt that he got a canoe and there was enough water in their ditch for the girls to canoe in it. So, he bundled her up with her life jacket and they canoed in the middle of Doniphan! :)

Elsbury ladies and Landon!

Jackie, Chantele, and Emily met Jessica and Landon at my house Thursday morning. Chantele is in NE for a few more days before going to Chicago. We hadn't seen Jess and Landon over Father's day, so we wanted to get together. We had a fun day. We went out to eat, played at a park, and went swimming. Lily and Landon had so much fun together!

Chantele and the two turkeys

At the water park. I didn't get any pics of them swimming, but we had a blast. Lily and Landon are fearless.

"We have to dry our hair," Lily says!

Children's Museum

It's fun being neighbors with a teacher. We can take our kids to fun places during the day!!!

Heaven

One of my goals this summer is to cook and bake more. I have never tried to make a pie, so that was first on my list. I used my Grandma Winnie's pie crust recipe. I was talking to Lily about my Grandma and she had lots of questions. I told her she was in Heaven.

"In Heaven? With Mully and your baby?"
"What does Heaven look like?"
"Can we go there?"
"I bet they have smores there, because I love marshmallows! Do they have smores, Mommy?"
"Do you think your Grandma likes me?"
"Was Mully nice? Did he love me?"

A 3 year old is so curious and honest. I think we could learn a lot from children. I did my best to answer them. We have read a book about Angels "Angels Watching Over Me" by Lynn Hodges and Sue Buchanan (almost every day this week), so I could use that to help explain some things. It breaks my heart that she doesn't know Mullen and our grandparents that are in Heaven. So, I welcome the questions and do my best to answer them.

As far as Grandma's pie recipe. . .

It isn't the best looking pie, but it tasted pretty good.

Matt and Lily thought it was good, but do you think they would have told me it wasn't ? ha ha! I think I will keep trying, but no one could beat my Grandma's cooking. :)

Father's Day weekend

For our Father's Day weekend, Matt planned a fishing trip with his Dad, Mark. We borrowed Dave's boat (thank you so much!!!) and took it up to the Missouri River in SD. We picked up Mark on our way (early in the morning, might I add).

Lily absolutely L-O-V-E-S the boat. She was a trooper!
What a cute picture of my Faves!

Lily holding Grandpa's pole for him.

She wasn't too thrilled to fish with her pole. Once Matt got a fish and it wiggled in the net she was holding, she was DONE! She screamed everytime we caught a fish.

She was our driver!

Grandpa Mark kept Lily's fishing pole in the water and checked on it often. It actually caught a fish. He was holding it for a picture and it wiggled out of his hands. Do you see it in mid-air?? Good pic, Matt. Lily is screaming and I am surprised she didn't bail! ha ha

This is where she took a nap! She probably slept over an hour. Oh, to be a kid again!

The fisherman!

Matt got a small mouth, the last of the three keepers that we got.

Lily is helping me 'not' catch a fish. She didn't want me to get one because they wiggle too much.

It was absolutely beautiful! We left the river around 10:00. Crazy, huh?

Happy Father's Day Grandpa! They were both being so silly when I was trying to get a picture. :)

What a character!

Lily was so excited to be with Aunt Emily and Aunt Chantele. They love make-up, jewelry, and clothes - - -Just like Lily!!!

Aunt Chantele brought hand puppet tattoos. Lily has a zebra and shark on her hands. They were cute!

We had a great time in O'Neill!

Happy Father's Day Daddy (Matt)!!!! I couldn't have asked for a better Daddy for Lily. We are truly blessed to be his wife and daughter.

On our way home from O'Neill, Lily told Matt what we got him. She has kept the secret for over a week and just miles before home, she let the cat out of the bag. She was just so excited to give it to Daddy!

Now, Matt can organize his tools better in the garage.

Happy Father's Day to my Dad!!! I love you so much Dad, I hope you had a great weekend!!!

Baby Cash Springer

Cash Jennings Springer was born on May 10. We finally went to Kearney to meet him. Lily loved holding him.

Amy and her precious boys. We had fun visiting you Springer family. Hopefully we can get together more often!

Farming!

It's that time of year again! We went out to visit Grandpa in the tractor. He was cultivating, so we brought him some lunch and got to ride with him.

Beautiful corn. That farmer must know what he's doin'.

I told Lily to climb the stairs on the grain bin . . .

then she didn't want to come down.

Lily thought Grandpa's bin was stinky.

She could sit there all day with Grandpa. . .

especially when he lets her drive!!!

Lily is a farmer at heart. I think it is a safe bet that she will be out to the farm a lot during her lifetime.

3 year Blogaversary!!!!!

On June 17th, 2008, I ventured into the Blogging world. I had talked with a friend that had a blog and thought, I can do that! When I started, I didn't realize I would love it this much. I have used this blog as an album of our lives. It is a journal for me to get down my thoughts and be able to look back on them and see how we have grown.

So much has happened in the last three years, so I went through and found some of my favorite pictures and moments from June 2008-June 2011. Some of the pictures are not previously on the blog, so have fun reminiscing with me!

I have a goal to have more than 5 followers by June 2012, so if you enjoy looking at my blog, you can become a Follower of Elsbury Clan. I would love to have you!!!
