Our Lincoln trip

Our friend, Derek's, birthday was the first weekend of August and they invited us to their house in Lincoln to hang out on Friday night.  Matt wasn't home but was flying into Lincoln late evening.  So, me and the kids got things done on Friday and then headed to Lincoln to visit the Children's zoo before we picked him up.

The peacocks just roamed.

This monkey was cute until he made Lily jump out of her skin.  ha ha  I got this picture just before he jumped down right in front of her.  :)

Even the camels posed for my picture! :)

Flying squirrel

We loved watching these lemurs.  The babies were only a week old.

Otter

Riding the caterpillar. :)

We had to move a little fast through the last part of the zoo because Matt's plane had landed.  He was patient and waited a little at the airport.  We got him and then ate downtown Lincoln together.  Derek and Jill live in Roca, so we headed out there and saw their beautiful and huge home.  Soon, more friends came!  It was a great evening!

Harper and Hudson (Derek and Jill's little girl and she is also 2)

I couldn't find Hudson for a little while and this is where he was.  He discovered that he couldn't get it to move, but he was determined to claim it when it did move.

All the 2 year olds are in!  Its funny because the battery wasn't it, but they had fun sitting in it listening to the radio. :)  This could be trouble in 14 years!

Lily and Hayden had a wonderful time playing together!

Now its working!!  The big girls drove it around after everyone left.

I hadn't planned on staying, but we did!  We made camp in their basement. :)

Thanks for a great night Heiss family!!!  We are so glad we have been able to get together with our friends more than once this summer!  That never happens, but it was sure needed! :)
