Mahoney

We planned a camping trip at Mahoney in mid July. We were lucky to get a spot and it was great. We definitely are going to plan another trip there next summer. We were able to take Sydney with us on Thursday night and Matt took off Friday. I was going to be meeting with friends on Saturday night in Omaha, so the weekend just fell into place! :)

We got to the campground really late on Thursday night. When we got to our spot, someone was camping on it with a tent. So, we had to wait until she moved her tent to her actual spot before we could begin setting up. We had some tired kids!

Friday!

Our spot was right by a little pond. There were tons of geese there to watch.

We liked to watch him. We all tried to beat him by standing on one leg....but he won!

That afternoon we went to the Safari!

Lily enjoyed looking at the map and telling us what was next.

Then we went on a hike to find the other animals.

Frog pond! It was stinky. Especially after Hudson and I found some snail shells and thought it would be neat to pick them up. That smell just lingered forever!

I then ran all around Mahoney! It was a fun run because it was all new to me. I love running in new places. It was hot!

TIRED girls!

Scott and Eliza had picked up Delanie and Caden from church camp and then came out to eat supper with us. It was a nice relaxing evening. We ate Brisket that Heather had smoked for us. DELICIOUS!

Saturday!

We went to the Air and Space Museum.

Matt and Lily went to get money for a ride, so Hudson got to "fake" ride the little airplanes. :)

They both got hit by a bomb.

That evening, I met up with some old college roommates. We ate a restaurant and talked and talked! I hadn't seen them in almost 10 years. Geez, we are old!
