Weekend

My kids after Lily's first day of school!  It looks as if Oasis won't sit by them, but usually she is licking every inch of them. :)

On Friday night, none of us mommies wanted to cook, so we all went to Rival's for supper.

The big kids
Tice, Lily, Morgan

Little kids
Zoe, Skylar, Hudson

On Saturday, I took Lily to the eye doctor.  She is slightly near sighted but the doctor said that is normal for a 5 year old.  So no glasses......yet.  If she got her eyes from me, she will definitely need glasses in her future.  Lily and I ran errands in GI while Matt did a lot of work on his bar.  That evening Toby and Rachel invited us to a BBQ at their house.  Then, Lily and I............

Camped in the backyard!  I had told her all summer we would do that and we never got around to it.  So, we finally did it!

We watched a movie on the iPad while eating popcorn.  Then we both had a great nights sleep.  We were woken up by the rooster that lives at the farmhouse just to the South of us.  Goodness.....I think he started at 5:30 or so and wouldn't stop!  Then, Hudson and Matt visited us. :)

All smiles!

On Sunday, we got soooo much accomplished.  I love those type of days.  I then packed sandwiches and Gogurts for all of us so we could eat on the river.

Hudson walked way over into the grass, so Matt had to bring him back.  Silly boy!

Lily was working on a sand castle.

On our way home, we got stuck!

They didn't care though!

Matt always gets us out!  He found a bush to hook the winch too and it got us out.  We were pretty deep!

We enjoyed our weekend!

LILY ~Open house and First Day of Kindergarten!!!

The time has come for our baby to go to Kindergarten! ~There are so many emotions at this time.  I am so proud of how she has matured, but yet it seems impossible for her to be old enough to spend 7 hours at school.  She is so excited!

Daddy with Lily and Hudson looking at her classmates' birthdays.

Lily sitting at her table.  She is even right by Rylen (next door neighbor).

We look forward to a great Kindergarten year with Mrs. Shafer.

We looked around her classroom, went to the library, and then she REALLY wanted to play on the playground.  We told her she will get to do that everyday now, but she was insistent and it was a nice evening, so we did.

So, Thursday morning we started our new routine.  Lily will now eat breakfast at home and then go to Little Miracles.  They will take her to school and pick her up.  Matt and I were able to do the dropping off (Matt) and picking up (me) for her first day!

First day of Kindergarten!!!!

Wow!!!

She didn't seem nervous at all......just excited!

Daddy took her to school and got this great picture by the D-T bell.

I thought about Lily ALL day!  I even talked to my new first graders about her and we discussed how she might be feeling.  :)  My Principal let me leave during our plan time to go pick her up on her first day.  I couldn't wait to hear all about it.

Lily and Rylen after their first day of school!  I am sure there will be many of these through out the years.

Lily was a chatter box!  I think she told me absolutely every detail of her day.  She really enjoyed it and couldn't wait until the next day.  She saw people she knew and I think that was comforting to her also.  It is going to be different being on the other end of things.  In actuality, I think it will make me a better teacher.  I imagine Lily going through what my kids are and it makes my decisions more based on how they will react to it.

KINDERGARTEN, HERE WE ARE!!!!!

First week of School!

I just finished my 9th first day teaching First Grade!  I can not believe this is my ninth year.  We had a fun first week, and I look forward to getting to know my kiddos better.  I think it is going to be a great year!

As you can tell, I stuck with the Peace/Groovy theme!

On the 1st day of school I always take a smiling picture of them and then a Groovy picture with a bandana and glasses.

This was my favorite!  He definitely put some feeling into it.

We finally took our group picture on Friday.  I was waiting until all my kids were there!

Here's to a wonderful 2013-14 school year!

Something to fill the garage!

This new Expedition was my rental car for a couple days because the Explorer's back wheel bearing was loose.  It turns out, my husband was really wanting to trade the Explorer for it.  So, we did!  We really enjoy it.  It is bigger, but it doesn't feel like I am driving a honkin' big truck around.  The kids have bucket seats and the 3rd row is roomier.  Now we can pull a camper....wink wink.  As if all the kids' and Matt's toys didn't fill the garage already, this car takes up even more room. :)

Hudson's First haircut

Matt has been saying for a long time that Hudson needed a haircut.  Well, we finally did it.

Before shots....look at those curls in the back.

Working on a mullet.

He didn't want to sit on the booster himself, so I had to hold him.

He did really good.

Of course, I wanted to keep some hair for his baby book! :)

I think he got a little on him, ha ha.  Daddy also got his haircut.

My little boy!!!!!  It is crazy how much it changed how he looks!
The sucker makes it soooo worth it! :)

Lily had been at her first birthday party of the day.  Aysha had her birthday at the new Lincoln Pool.  Lily had not been there yet, so she was sooo excited!

The high dive!

Lily and the birthday girl, Aysha!

Then, Lily had Morgan's birthday party at her house.  What a lucky girl to go to 2 birthday parties of her closest friends in one day!  :)

Jeep Jamboree 2013

Jeep Jamboree

This year the Strain family came with us to the Jeep Jamboree.  There was quite a bit of water!  We had fun with them and no one got stuck! :)  Wow, huh?  I did get two pair in the Poker Run, but they never called me, so I guess I didn't win. :(  Enjoy the pics!

I said WE didn't get stuck.....but other people definitely did!  ha ha

Lily and Evan played really good together.  Evan brought a minnow net and they caught minnows together.

Jackson liked entertaining Hudson.  Hudson didn't nap long in the jeep this time.  He did good though.

We were waiting for the group picture.  I am anxious to get one because there were a lot of jeeps.  I think it was the most we have seen out there.

He loved the driver seat.

We ate supper in Central City and then headed home before it got dark.  It was a chilly ride home.........but they both managed to fall asleep.  Crazy!

Car races!

On Friday night we went to McCool Junction for the car races.  It was Strobel night and they were having a picnic for Strobel employees.  Lily won a race shirt and we all got ear plugs and glasses.  Matt had bought the kids shooting ear muffs.

This was like the only time he wore the earmuffs.  He wouldn't keep them on.  So, whoever was holding him had to try to cover his ears

Steve Strobel was there with his Baja truck.  He went around the track and then drove through the median.  His truck is pretty cool.

What a great night at the races!
I had never been to car races and didn't really know what to expect.  They were really loud (I wore my ear plugs most of the time.) and it was dusty.  Lily really liked watching them!  Hudson did pretty well too.
