MULLEN'S RIDE

We went out to John and Laurie's on Saturday morning.  This is the 6th year of MULLEN'S RIDE.  We have not went before and the plan was to be in the ride with our jeep.  John has a jeep as well, but his had some major problems earlier that week.  We still made it all work though!  On Saturday, we took the jeep to Lake McConaughy.  Dad and Virgie came too and then later mom came on her motorcycle to John and Laurie's.

Matt took the kids to the edge of the lake.  It's so sad to see how low the lake is.  You could see the water line on the trees around the lake.  Where John and Laurie are standing once used to be all water.

John has a friend!  Hudson really liked Uncle John this weekend.

3 hooligans in the jeep!

On Sunday morning, we got all ready for MULLEN'S RIDE.  Lily rode into Lodgepole with Grandma.  We took the jeep (a belt had broken on Saturday, so the jeep wasn't top notch) and Hudson rode with Grandpa in the pickup.

Everyone met at the Junkyard in Lodgepole.  I would say there were close to 70 motorcycles.  They started this ride when Mully was sick.  They raise money on this ride for the Children's Hospital in Denver.  John and Laurie have been able to use that money to put an XBox in the children's rooms.  Mullen loved the XBox in his hospital room.  It really helped him get his mind off things even for a little bit and passed the time while he was there.  So, I think that is such an awesome idea to be able to provide that for other little boys/girls.

My Jeepin' buddy!

Of course its not Jeepin' if you don't have to fix the Jeep sometime along the way! ha ha!  Matt was finally able to find the belt he needed.  Good as new!

One of our stops along the ride.  We were doing a poker run, so we would stop and get our next card and have a drink.  Fun time!

Mav was riding with KK.

Virg rode with Mom part of the way.

Look at that biker!!!  Laurie rode a motorcycle too!  What a neat experience! :)

Our next stop.  All the bikes parked in the middle of the road.

Grandma is passing us!

Geez!  She said she tried to ride with the Big Boys.  She looked down and was going 95 and she thought that was enough of that!!!  :)  Not a lot of Grandma's do this!  So cool! :)

Planning their next jeep adventure!

When we got back to Lodgepole at the Junkyard, they had supper ready for everyone.  Then Lily rode back with Grandma and Hudson rode in the jeep with us!

He loved it!

Hudson was kicking his legs and giggling!  This makes Daddy so proud.  He has another jeepin' buddy!

The boys have 4 steers for the fair.  We were checking them out.

We went home Monday morning.  It was nice to hang out with everyone and not being in a hurry to get home.

Hudson learned a new trick!  Silly kid!

Thanks for a wonderful weekend John, Laurie, and boys!  We forever and always miss Mullen John.  What a blessing he is!  :)

Summer is here!

My eighth year of teaching is now in the books.  The last week of school was a little stressful (Matt gone, create DVD, computer troubles, report cards, close up room, say goodbye to 17 cuties).  I survived and now I will enjoy my summer!  I am looking forward to coming and going whenever I want.  I am not taking any classes this summer, but I do have meetings for a week.

Hello Summer!!!

My birthday!

My birthday was a good one.  My family woke me up with hugs and kisses.  Matt has a weekend planned for the two of us with massages and all....I can't wait!  Going to school, I think my students were more excited for my birthday than me!  :)  It was V day, so they watched BRAVE at the end of the day for "Video day."  My mom picked up Lily and Hudson from daycare around noon and then brought them to my classroom to see my kids.  They got to have RootBeer floats with my class.

They absolutely loved Hudson.  He wanted to be right with them. :)

Lily had a couple conversations with a few of my girls and felt pretty important. :)

My great class.  The year started out rocky, but I ended the year absolutely loving this class.  It was very hard to say goodbye to them.

I always love the goofy picture!  :)

Another year older!

That evening, we went to my parents' for my mom and I's birthday supper.  Here is to year 32!  :)

Meeting Braxton John Tenant DeBerg!

We got to meet Braxton on Sunday.  He was only 3 days old.  He is so adorable and tiny.  He slept the whole time we were there, probably because we wouldn't put him down and he was so snuggly. :)

Congratulations Scott and Jessica!!!  We are so happy for your little family.  Congratulations to big brother Landon!  :)

Mom's surprise 60th birthday party!

My sister, Virgie, lined up a surprise birthday for mom on May 18th.  We went to Aunt Kathy's to set up and get everyone ready for the surprise.  Virgie was bringing up mom for a pedicure with Aunt Kathy.  When they drove up we opened the garage door and surprised Mom!  She was thrilled.

Mom's closest friends came to celebrate with her.  Virgie also contacted 60+ people to write a letter to Mom.  She got most of them and they are priceless.  Good job Gig!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!!

For Mom's birthday, she is taking us girls to Asheville, North Carolina.  We are going to stay at the Biltmore Estates
Wow, huh?!  We are leaving on June 17 for 5 days.  Woo hoo!

May 16th!

May 16th was a pretty big day!

*It was Grandma Nancy's 60th Birthday!  Happy Birthday Grandma!

*Our new nephew/cousin was born: Braxton John Tenant DeBerg!  Yay!  A baby to spoil and love.

*Lily's last day of preschool and Preschool Celebration.

Lily's last day of Preschool!  Doesn't she look like a Kindergartner already?!?

I didn't get that great of pictures of Lily singing because I was at a bad angle.

Getting her certificate.

We are so proud of you Lily!

I love you sweetheart!

Daddy and the graduate.  Hudson was not wanting to sit through the program.....in this picture he is signing "please" for the snacks I had to give him to be quiet, ha ha!

Lily and her teacher, Mrs. Seier.  Lily had a lot of fun this year and did not want to leave Mrs. Seier.  Thank you for a great year!

The three hooligans.

So sweet!

Next year all three of them will be going to different schools.  Lily-Doniphan, Aysha-Shoemaker, Paislee-Gates.
It will be different for them to not see each other daily.  It makes me sad for them, but I know each of them will make new friends and they will be just fine.  I plan on taking Hudson to Heather's still, but Lily will only go there on occasions that Doniphan doesn't have school and I have to work.  We will see how this year goes! :)
