What a week!

I am sure everyone has experienced a week like mine, but I am going to complain a little. :(  First, I had a meeting or something going on everyday after school this week except Friday.  Then I scheduled a meeting with a mom on Friday since one of my students was moving.
Monday, Lily had her dance pictures.  So, I picked up the kids and took them back to school to get Lily all beautified in her dance costume. (Doniphan is too far away, so school it is!)  We made it there, and they were actually very quick taking their pictures.

Tuesday, we had a SIP meeting at school.

Wednesday, we woke up to a cold house.  Matt had someone come out that morning to look at it and sure enough our heater was broken!  I also had an IEP meeting after school and then when I picked up the kids, Heather said that there was a case of RSV at daycare.  Urgh.  I worried because Hudson had a cough and runny nose.  When we got home the house was cold and we started the space heaters.  Our heater wouldn't' get fixed until Thursday because he had to order a part.  Matt bought a SunHeat (not cheap!), so that our babies wouldn't be cold!  He says it will be good to have to lower our heating bill.  We will see, wink wink. :)

The heater kept the house pretty warm, we didn't even notice a difference.  Hudson still had his cough and runny nose :(

Thursday - I told Heather to keep us posted on how he was feeling.  We were both very worried about him getting RSV.  Sure enough, she got a hold of me and said he wasn't eating and he was a little more fussy.  I called the doctor and they could only get him in @2:30.  I had another important meeting with parents and other staff right after school.  This was not a meeting that I should miss.  So, thankfully Matt was able to take him.  He did test positive for RSV. :(  Matt went and got a breathing treatment.  I stayed at school to make sub plans for Friday.  I was bummed because that was the last day for one of my students.  I hate that I couldn't be there to make his day special.

This was his breathing treatment on Thursday night.  He wasn't a big fan of it.

Friday - Home with the kids.  I had to wake up Hudson at 2:00am to give him a breathing treatment and then again at 7:00am.  He is more calm with each one we have to do.  Poor baby.  I realized it is good to have Mickey Mouse or Curious George on TV to keep his attention.  I also sway and sing my usual 3 songs. :)

Friday he did really good.  Had we not taken him to the doctor, we probably would have handled this like a normal cold and then he probably would have gotten much much worse.  Dr. Steinke told Matt we caught it early (thank goodness).  So, we just had some fun around the house.  Lily and I made cookies, cleaned, did laundry, made supper.  I think a Friday off every now and then is good!  If you hear Hudson cough, you know we aren't done with this crud yet. :(

While he was eating lunch, guess what I noticed!  Our little man is a vampire!  He is getting two teeth on top, but they aren't the two middle teeth.  They are either the ones right next to them or his eye teeth.  They look silly, ha ha!  So, now his runny nose a fussiness was probably a mixture of teeth and RSV.

Saturday - Matt has to work :(  We are home again.  I don't want to take Hudson out at all, so it looks like another day to bum around the house.

Beautiful Saturday!

This Saturday was just gorgeous!!!  We had Hudson out a lot this summer (when it wasn't too hot), but he hasn't really spent time outside since.  So, today we got to be outside and swing and just enjoy watching Daddy work on the new Jeep.

He liked it, but he still wasn't too sure about it.

He was too heavy and squirmy for her, so this was a one time thing! :) ha ha!

That afternoon, Lily and I had a Mommy/Daughter time at Stuhr Museum.  They had a Prairie Princess Party!

I could not believe how many people were there.  We were in a line of cars just to get in!   So, needless to say there were a lot of adorable little girls dressed as princesses!

First, Lily got to meet Miss Nebraska!

Then we went to the big building and there was A LOT to do!

What a sweetheart!!! :)

Then we went upstairs for Princess Dance lessons!

Then we waited in line for the Princess tea party!

It was all decked out with Pink! Lily loved it!

What a fun day!  There were too many people in line for face painting... maybe next year.

That evening, we took the kids to my parents' house. Grandpa watched them so we could go to Matt's work Christmas party.  Grandpa said they were easy to watch.  Thank you Grandpa.  Mom got there later from Lodgepole.  Matt and I had a great time at the party and then went to Marc's house afterwards.  It was nice to interact with his work friends also.

We went to church the next morning and ate with mom and dad for lunch!  I would consider that a great weekend!!! :)

Grandpa's birthday

The weekend of the 12th, Jessica and Scott had planned to come stay with us so Scott could hunt with Matt.  Mark and Jackie decided to come as well.  The men didn't get anything Saturday morning, but I think they enjoyed themselves.  Jess, Lily, Hudson, and I had fun being lazy around the house.  Jess and I talked a lot about their new baby boy coming in May!  We are so excited!  We then went out to eat and came back and rested.  When Matt's parents got there we left right after for FUJI. (I know, I had been there the night before......its a great place, so I didn't mind!)  We had a great time and Lily absolutely loves this place. She was trying to explain to Grandma everything the chef was going to do.  She was a little confused when Lily says a little man pees on the food. :) ha ha!!!

They came out to wish Mark a Happy Birthday!  He was funny, because he danced to the drums the whole time.  I think they enjoyed their first experience at a Japanese restaurant. :)

Another picture for the FUJI wall!

In the morning, we lounged and played.

Lily showed Grandma how to create a masterpiece!

Thank you for coming to see us!!!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Mark!

Mommy Night!

Our January play date (ha ha, the autocorrect kept changing 'play date' to playmate.  If you saw this the first time I posted, sorry!  Matt is the one that spotted my error, ha ha!)  . was just for the mommies!!!  Not everyone could be there, but that gives us BIG reason to do it again!  We went to FUJI and ate supper and then got a couple drinks at Bandits.  It was refreshing and the Daddy's got to have their bonding time with the kids. :)  We thought they should have all gotten together for a play date, ha ha!  I can't wait to for the next Mommy night! :)

Thanks ladies for all the fun and laughter!

Sledding 2013

It was finally somewhat warm to go sledding in all the snow we got.  We went to the Doniphan dump, ha ha, and it was fun!

We took the jeep and Hudson stayed in there while we took turns with Lily.

Dual sledding.

I am not a good sledder, I bail when I start going too fast.  ha ha

She got snow down the back of her coat and you would have thought it was the worst thing ever.

Matt wanted to try putting her behind the jeep.  I was a little skeptical, but she loved it!  We drove all around the dump and even over a little hill.  The stinker was even riding with no hands and I don't think she could have had a bigger smile. :)

WE had a great family day! :)

Hudson 8 months

Hudson is 8 months old!
January 4, 2013

*He can shake his head 'no.'
*He will try to cough on command.
*He is learning to wave hello and goodbye.  I will hold up his arm and he will move his hand.  What a lazy waver. ha ha
*He loves sweet potatoes.
*He has had puffs, but makes a funny face every time.  He hasn't put them in his mouth by himself yet.
*2 things he hates: getting his nose cleaned, and being put into his carseat.
*He still sounds like an old man when he is excited (if you have heard it, you know what I mean).
*Sometimes he can pull himself up to his feet.  He stays on his knees a lot.
*He is starting to get on his hands and knees to crawl.  Sometimes he goes back to army crawling because it is quicker.
*He makes a clicking sound with his tongue.

We found him like this!

It is so funny to see him excited when he gets himself up.  We do have to help him sometimes.

I was playing with my camera and figured out how I could do a black and white picture with a color accent.  I tried to get his blue eyes too.

Lily wanted in the basket too! :)

New Years 2013

Me and the kids hung out at home on New Year's Eve while Matt went to work.  I loved these relaxing days with my kiddos.  Lily started the morning by putting together a 48 piece puzzle ALL by herself.  Usually she asks for a little help and/or loses interest.  This time, I saw her start the puzzle and she watched cartoons while she finished it!  So great!

Teaching Hudson how to play the piano.

Later that morning, Morgan came over to play.  It is fun to have a teacher/neighbor during school breaks.  :)

Lounging in the coupe. :)

Cute kids!

For New Year's Eve night, we planned a stay at the Ramada Inn at Kearney.  We went there every year when I was growing up.  A bunch of the families would go and get rooms in a block.  It was so much fun.  I wanted to try that out.  I didn't know that the Ramada has been remodeled and the center pool/game/elephant eye area is not the same as it used to be.  We still had fun.

Our first time to the pool with Hudson!

Hee hee, I love it!

The water was warm, but the room was cool.  So, Hudson was a little chilly.

Hudson loved the water.  I had to sneak out of the pool to grab this shot.  :)

After we got out, our friends came to the Ramada to hang out with us.  The Fehringer's and Springer's came with their kids.  It was nice to see them.....very busy with all the kids!  We hope to get together next New Year as well.  Then Hudson will be everywhere too!

They left and we went to the room to bring in the New Year.  Lily tried soooo hard to stay up and watch the ball drop.

She is enjoying her grape sparkling juice to celebrate.

Hudson slept through it all!

2013
Here is to a blessed New Year! :)

morning swim

Me and my little man.

so sweet!

We are getting ready for the Husker game!

ha ha

Lily has a very hard time keeping her hands off of Hudson.  So, whenever they are on the floor together they are always rolling over each other.  Its cute until hair gets pulled or heads get bumped.

Pure joy

The Huskers didn't win, but they did SO much better than we had expected.  It was a nice relaxing afternoon watching football.
