Read Across America *Book Characters*

Last week was Read Across America week for Dr. Seuss' birthday.  One day we were to dress up as our Favorite Book Character.  I don't really have a favorite or I guess one that I could think of that would have an easy costume.  So, I chose the Paper Bag Princess.  I like the book, even though not many people had heard of it.  ha ah

I read it to my kids that day and then they appreciated my costume more.  Like, Oh, I get it now!  ha ha!

One of my students dressed up as Junie B. Jones.  She was my only student to dress up.

Look how fun we are!!!  The Newell staff is the best.  I think we are missing a couple teachers that dressed up.  Fun fun!

Horse Races *Zach's 30th

We were invited to the Horse Races for our friend, Zach's 30th birthday.  Our morning started out pretty relaxed. :)

When I got up in the morning, this is what I saw.  They are just the cutest.  I really love when they get along ha ha!

We dropped them off with my mom at her flip house.  She had the day planned for them and it sounds like they had a lot of fun with the Children's museum and cows. :)

Matt and I were excited to have a date all day and night. :)

My bud, Hayley!

Another bud, Erin.  Cheers to Zach!

Jello shots around.  Fun times girlies!

Some of the Newell peeps. :)

Fun group of girls!

We were not lucky at all at the races. :(  We had a great time though.  Zach and Erin invited everyone to their house afterwards with supper, munchies, and fun.  To end the night, Erin's family likes to play tippy cup.  I stole this pic from Erin to show that teachers can have fun too!  ha ha.
Our team lost to Erin's family most of the time.  ha ha.  I think its funny that John and Matt sat during the game.  We will have to practice so we are better the next time we get together.  :)

Happy Birthday Zach!

~~Circus~~ '15

On Tuesday afternoon, Grandma picked up the kiddos and met me at the Circus.  The kids were so excited.  Grandma bought them cotton candy right away. :)

Not a good pic, but we were having fun. :)

During the intermission, they just had to get their faces painted.

My little tiger and flower girl!

Look at those smiles!
Circus fun! :)

I think the elephants were all of our favorites.  I took a lot of videos to show my students.  Only 2 or so have ever been to the circus.  So, I wanted to give them a little bit of background. :)

Thank you for going with us Grandma!!!

Cattle show

We were able to go to the Kearney Cattlemen's Classic on Sunday.  Mav and Guire had 3 steers they were showing.  It was fun to watch them behind the scenes and in the ring.

Uncle John and Mav taught them how to comb and fluff them to be show ready.

Guire was the first to show

He did well, but did not come in the top 3.

Mav ended up winning his class.

Hud was posing when I was actually getting a pic of Mav winning his class.

Since both of his steers won the class, they were both in the finals.  So, Guire and Mav both showed at the same time. :)

Learning all the tricks from Aunt Laurie.

They both did really well, but didn't end up winning the overall.  Guire's steer got spooked by another steer hitting the fence.  Guire ended up doing a barrel roll on the ground but got right back up and finished the show.  What a trooper.

It was fun watching them do what they love.

Hayley's Bridal Fun!

One of my greatest friends is getting married on March 20th in Mexico.  Her bridal shower and bachelorette party were in Omaha a couple weekends ago.  Beth (lives in Kearney) picked me up and we went together.  Us two and Shannon had a hotel room together.  I love these girls and could not wait to have a girls day/night! :)

This was most of the ladies at the shower.  Cala had it at her house.  It was such a nice shower.  It was fun to be with the girls. :)

After the shower, we went to the hotel to get ready.  The Bachelorette started at the hotel during the Happy Hour.

Amy and Shan

Oh, to be young again and live with these girls.  So much has changed since I have lived with them 10 years ago.  Geez!  We are all mommies now :)

Elevator fun

We went to the room for games and gifts.  Look at all these pretty ladies! :)

My girls!
Do you like Hayley's veil?  ha ha

Most of us then went to a few bars.  Cala left to snuggle her baby (I don't blame her.)

Hayley claimed she was too old for so much fun.

What a cutie

Check out the leggings the band members were wearing. ha ha

Having a good time

I am so happy for you Hayley!!!

Mitch is a lucky guy :)
