Memorial Day weekend

On Friday, I checked out of school......................ahhhh that feels nice!!!  Matt had taken the day off to get ready for camping.  The kids and I got home and finished packing up clothes and we were off to Harlan.  Jessica, Scott, Landon, and Braxton came to our house first with their camper and we drove down to Harlan together.

We were so excited to see the boys!

Good thing they packed some good outside toys.
:)

We changed a few outfits because the water table was such a hit!

We brought a fire pit and were able to do some smokes that night.  Landon slept in our camper that night because they were watching a movie together.

Matt made another great breakfast in the morning for all of us!

The DeBergs got Hudson the red trike.  The bigger kids liked it!

Grandma, Grandpa, and Emily came that afternoon.  They brought Landon and Lily water guns.

Relaxing....it was so nice to not have any worries.  The weather was nice too!

Lily and Landon rode their bikes....A LOT!  We were in a good spot for them.  We were right by some black top.

They brought Bear too. :)  Lily loves him sooo much.

We celebrated all the May birthdays and Scotts April birthday!
Hudson the 4th, Jackie the 5th, Braxton the 16th, and Me the 17th.

He got a big wheel bike.

He pretty much opened Braxton's four wheeler for him. ha ha

We got Braxton sand toys and a tractor just like Hudson has.

Then we all went fishing.

Landon was the only one to get a fish!

Thank goodness Grandma and Aunt Jessica were there to entertain Hudson and Braxton.

Later we tried to go fish at another place.  It was impossible.

Emily stayed in our camper and Mark and Jackie stayed with the DeBergs.  In the morning, Jessica made the breakfast.

Look at these cute cousins!!!

Tormenting Grandpa.

Lily and Bear were inseparable!

We went fishing again!

Mark, Jackie, and Emily left for home that afternoon.   As soon as they left, Scott started catching fish.

Me and Landon!  I have a huge wad of seeds in my mouth.  Nice, huh??

Teaching Hudson how to fish!

Scott was the only one to catch fish this day.  He got 4 walleye!

We had a lot of bites...but no fish!

We packed up the fishing gear and went back to our campers.  We grilled supper and hung out by the fire again.  On Monday, we left for home.

Thanks for a great Memorial Day weekend DeBergs and Elsburys!

Last day of school!

Lily's last day of school was May 22nd.

I can't believe my baby finished Kindergarten and will be a FIRST GRADER next year.  I am excited to have an actual first grader in my house to steal ideas from her for my class. :)  ha ha

Daddy was gone, so we were eating breakfast and taking breathing treatments while watching Mickey Mouse so that I could finish getting ready.

She seems so grown up.

I took one more picture in front of Little Miracles.

It was my last day of school too.  We had a great morning.  Some were a little emotional, which made me emotional, but we made it through.  I finished my ninth year as a first grade teacher at Newell.  I am happy to say that I will be there again next year, but there are SOOO many changes at my school. I am excited about the new dynamics we will have.  I get to teach with one of my best friends, Asia.

Super Kid's Day

On May 20th, Lily had Doniphan's Super Kid's Day at the track.  I took a half personal day to go to that with her.  They had it set up with 12 or so stations.  The group they were each in was made up of 2 of each grade Kindergarten through 2nd.  They then had two staff assigned to them.  Each station was fun by a few 6th graders.  It ran so smoothly.  If I wasn't an educator and just experienced our own field day, I wouldn't have an opinion either way probably.  I thought it was neat and it seemed like each kid had a SUPER time (that must be how they got the name! ha ha).  Enjoy all of Lily's events!

She said this was her favorite part.  It was called shark.  A few kids were under the parachute and will pull on their legs and then they would yell, "help!" then a lifeguard would save them.  Just look at her  smile. :)

I am so glad I took off the afternoon to come watch her.  What a great day!

My Birthday!

My birthday was on a Saturday this year, so I brought my birthday treats to school on Friday.  We had groovy peace day, so they wore their tie dye shirts (some did) and ate in the classroom with me.  With our health guidelines, I wanted to make sure I got them a healthy treat, but a fun one!

They LOVED the watermelon!  A lot of them had never eaten it on the rind.

We had to get some selfies! :)  ha ha.  I love these kids!

That evening, our friends the Baasch's took us out to eat for my birthday.

Their kids are so good with our kids.

Saturday morning was my BIRTHDAY!  The big 32, whoop whoop.  Matt and the kids had my gifts waiting in the living room for me. They got me golf clubs!!!  I can't wait to use them. :)

Then we had to head to GI for the GIPS 5K!

Matt and the kids sat in the bleachers to watch.  All those people at the 50 yard line are the runners/walkers.  They had over 900 participants in the 5K and kids fun run.

This was my first lap.

My coworker, Joey, took this picture of me on the last bit of the race.

Done!!!  I beat my Doniphan time by 1 1/2 minutes.  I was definitely tired afterwards.  It was a fun time running with GIPS kids and teachers as well as families.

Then we washed the car, ate in town.

Laurie invited Lily and I to go to the Barn Festival in Hastings.  We had a good time and got some neat things.  While we were gone, Matt got the camper ready because we were grilling at my parents' and then going camping.

We tested out my clubs.....sad to say that my nephews are WAY better than Aunt Abby.  I really need to practice.

Lily got some lessons from them too.

The boys ended up going camping with us too.  We had a fun time.  Hudson was not breathing well.  He was very very wheezy and runny nose and watery eyes.  Sleeping was hard for him that night.

Needless to say, we took him to Urgent Care on Sunday morning.  They put him on allergy medicine and 2 breathing treatments a day.

That helped SOOOO much.  I take him to his regular doctor next week, but the PA says he has allergies and possibly asthma.  My poor little guy, but I am thankful there is something that will make him feel better.

I had a great birthday!
