Elsbury Christmas

This year we celebrated Christmas with the Elsburys a week early. Matt, Lily, and I drove up on Friday and got to spend the whole weekend there. It was nice to relax and not have to rush off. Chantele was back from Chicago and Jessica, Landon and her boyfriend Drew were back also.

We brought our Wii and it was a big hit. Lily and Landon could even play it. Ha ha!

Chantele and Jessica sword fighting.

Matt and Drew sword fighting.

Aww, cute cuddling cousins!

On Saturday, Jackie lined up someone to come take family pictures. This is great, because we hadn't had any since Matt and I's wedding. So, we just relaxed Saturday morning and ate the food that Chantele cooked! ha ha! Matt, Mark, and Drew went hunting but came home empty-handed. It was Drew's first hunting experience. :)

Lily and Landon took a bath and had a nice nap so they would 'maybe' sit still for pictures. Lily finally got to wear her pretty Christmas dress!

She loved to twirl and prance around in her dress.

The fam!

She climbed up on the chair with her cookie as we were talking. The photographer happened to spot her and took this cute picture.

Wow, look at all those dogs. ha ha!

Our little Elsbury family!

Pictures are over, are we ready to open presents?

PJs and slippers

Wow!!! Lily's kitchen from Grandpa and Grandma.

Once Grandpa and Matt got the kitchen put together, Lily and Landon loved playing with it.

Another family picture with Great Grandma Darla and Great Grandma Mary.

Lily had a long weekend!! :)

We had a wonderful time in O'Neill.

Holiday Happenings

Since my last post, Lily and I did have another snow day. It made a nice relaxing week for us, but not for Matt. He put in so many hours pushing snow.

I thought I could be a photographer and take a nice portrait of Lily in front of the tree. It isn't easy. This first one, she was in mid-run trying to see the picture on the camera. :)

Not too bad!

She wanted to take a picture by the snow! We had a lot of it!

During this week, we had our Newell Christmas party. It was a good time. Afterwards, we went to a bar for Brian's 30th birthday. I got balloons and necklaces for it! So many people came, it was fun!

My Newell friends. Check out the preggo!! Cute Megan!

Pool time!

Matt and Brian. I thought this was a great picture of the two of them.

Chris and Dave S. watched Lily. They really enjoy playing with her. She has another set of grandparents! :) On Saturday we went out to Gibbon. Matt went hunting and Lily and I hung out with Guire and Gma. Lily actually sat through a movie! We also went shopping.

Lily and Maguire

On Monday night we had Lily Christmas party at music class. I finally took some pictures. She enjoys this class so much. It is interesting to watch her with other kids. At this point, Lily likes to copy other kids (good or bad). Like, crawling under tables, running away from Mommy, but then she also sits well for stories, helps clean up, and dances with others. So, I am a proud mommy. Santa Claus came and Lily liked watching him, but didn't want to get too close. So, he got close to us!

Thank you Santa for my new Kazoo.

Lily and Laney! Laney's mommy and I work together. Its fun to see each other on Mondays. I follow Laney on her blog too.

They get out instruments a lot and then we sing a song when they are too clean up. I hope you get a small feel for how adorable this class is.

Another big event was my students' bead party. They voted on a Wii party! So, with the help of one of the Dads, I had two Wii's and lots of fun! I was very tired afterwards, but the kiddos had a blast!!!

They are sword fighting! Can you tell that they are all chanting VERY LOUD! Mrs. Elsbury had fun watching them, but had to be the queen of noise control! ha ha!

As I am posting this, my first semester is now over! I am enjoying my first vacation day. I need to finish shopping and do some cleaning. We had our Elsbury Christmas this last weekend, and I will post our Holiday in O'Neill, soon!

SNOW DAY!

Lily and I had a snow day today! We lounged around all day. It is so nice to have a 'surprise' day to stay at home with my daughter! We would gaze out the window to look at the beautiful snow. Lily calls snow, snowman. I don't know why, but she loves watching the 'snowman!' Right now, I can hear the wind howl. I am wondering if we will have 2 snow days in a row?? The bad part of that is we will be making them up after Easter and the end of the year. Matt is pushing snow and has been for awhile. I don't know how he does it. He worked the whole night on Sunday until mid morning and then started today at 5:00. Someone has to work today, right? :) The thing that would make a snow day better, would be spending it with both Matt and Lily.

I hope you all enjoyed your snow filled day. I guess, not all of you probably experienced all the snow! Let me tell you, it is beautiful from inside my comfy house! Lily and I went outside once to take letters to the mailbox. I am not a big snow person, but I love seeing how Lily looks at it. Hopefully Matt and I can take her out into it when it isn't too cold.

May God Bless You All!!!!
(crossing my fingers for another snow day) ha ha

Christmas is in the AIR!!

Yay! We finally got our Christmas tree. We were the Hillbillies that put our tree on top of the jeep.

Lily was cheering on the Huskers against Texas for the BIG 12 game. Too bad the Huskers had a heartbreaking loss. We watched the Husker game at Erin and Zach's house with them and Megan and John. Man, I really thought we won when the time ran out.

Christmas is in the air at the Elsbury home!

Micaela and Eric's wedding

The weekend after Thanksgiving, my friend Cala got married to Eric in Omaha. Matt and I went to Omaha on Friday and watched the Nebraska football game with Scott. That evening we went to the rehearsal supper for Cala and Eric. It was a very nice restaurant. Afterwards I went with the girls to a bar.

It was so nice to be back with those girls. We were only out for a drink and then left so Cala could get her beauty sleep. Becky, Hayley, and I went to Walmart to pack a basket full of goodies for their hotel room. It was a fun shopping trip. Most of us girls stayed at Micaela's house that night.

The bride and the bridesmaids got their hair done the next morning at Cala's. Matt and Lily picked me up and we went to Virgie's apartment to get ready. Matt and Lily went shopping while I went to the church.

Hayley and I. Aren't the flowers and dresses pretty?

Wow, I can't believe we all lived together. We are missing Cala and Jodi though. Those were great times!

The happy couple!

Cala and I. Thank you for letting me be apart of your special day.

Lily and Matt are a very good pair. Matt is such a good daddy!

Eric, Sara's husband, was playing Barbies with Lily.

Family picture!!

She zonked out before we could even dance much. She did make it out on the floor a couple times to shake her booty. :)

A few friends came over for the football game. Lily had so much fun playing with Faith!

Erin and Lily bonding!

A little fun at the mall. We didn't know if we wanted to let her go in the car. She wanted to soooo bad. We knew it would be hard to get her out of it, and it was. The life of a 2 year old.

Sarah's baby shower!

My friend Sarah had her baby shower this weekend in Waterloo. We were excited to go see her and help her celebrate. A few of us from Grand Island were there to enjoy the festivities. Sarah's friend, Cari, threw the party for her and it was amazing. Her house is beautiful and she is quite the party planner.

Kaycee (preggers), Erin, myself, Sarah (preggers), Shelley, and Asia.

It is so fun seeing your friends pregnant and starting their families. All of our lives are going to be crazy in a few years! These girls are so much fun and I wish we all got together more often. Kaycee and Sarah live in Omaha, but the rest of us try to hang out outside of school as much as we can.

Congratulations Sarah and Grady!
