Marcy's baby shower

My cousin Marcy is due on April 28th!!  She lives in Lincoln and she had a baby shower on Sunday.  I hadn't seen her baby belly yet, so I was excited to see her.  My mom, sister, and Sydney were there also.  Lily and Syd always have fun together!
Marcy had a wonderful turn out.  In fact there were 6 of us pregnant.  Most of us are due in late April, May, and June.  Lots and lots of babies!  :)  I wanted to make sure Marcy and I got to bump bellies before I left.  How cute!

It is going to be so fun to have our kids be this close in age.  We don't see each other as often as we would like, but hopefully that will change.  I can't believe how much bigger I look than Marcy!  Geez.

Marcy and Grandma to be (2nd time).

We can't wait to meet Baby Neeman.  My prediction is a baby girl on April 30th weighing 8lbs. 2 oz.  So, we will see how accurate I am.  Maybe our babies will even have the same birthday!  ha ha, that is if my baby wants to come out early or not.  If it is anything like Lily, it will be very content and will want to stay in forever.

Wrage's wedding

On Saturday one of my high school classmates got married.  Nathan Wrage and Kiley got married on a beautiful March day in Kearney!  Lily was so excited to dress up and to dance at the party.  There were a few of my classmates there with their significant others or kids.  Its fun to see everyone as moms and dads. :)  There were a lot of Shelton and Gibbon people there, so it was fun to catch up.  My parents were also there, so Lily felt very comfortable.  I think she danced almost every dance.  The night started with lots of kids running around but Lily was the last one to leave.  Our sweet girl was drinking out of other people's punch cups, eating peanuts straight from the spoon and putting it back, and wanting to dance with random people.  She finally wore herself out and we headed home.

Congratulations Nathan and Kiley!

St. Pat's 2012

We had fun going to O'Neill for St. Pat's this year.  Jessica and her new husband Scott were there with Landon also.  We had a busy Saturday: play around the house, watch Irish Dancers, watch the parade (getting lots of candy!!), eating lunch, and then having fun at a couple bars and Mitch Heiss's house.

All dressed up for Saint Patrick's Day!

Family pic of all 4 of us!  :)

50 days!!!

With the help from Pinterest, I found some cute snack ideas for St. Patrick's day.  I couldn't find the gold chocolate coins, so I made my own snack.  I wanted to send something with Lily for her Preschool friends and teacher.  Check it out!!!

Can you believe we have approximately 50 more days until we get to meet baby Elsbury?!?!?

50 days ago was January 24th.  We have had our car longer than 50 days.  I don't even know if it has snowed in 50 days?? ha ha  This 50 days is going to go fast.  I am soooo excited.  I had my 33 week appointment today.  Baby is head down (hopefully to stay) and heart rate was 146 bpm.  I was measuring right on this week, so that's good!  I have had no more migraines, so all is well with this momma!  Bring on the nice weather, now I just need to have enough clothes to last me 50 more days!  ha ha!

Baby Bump pics #5

8 more weeks!  I am still feeling really good, but my ribs and back hurt at times.  Changing positions while sleeping takes some work, ha ha!  My next appointment is Wednesday.

Highlights of my Spring Break 2012

I am so fortunate to get a whole week off from work.  I started with a rather large To Do list and thankfully I got a lot done!!  I didn't go anywhere exciting like 'Mexico!' (wink wink Megan), but it was a productive week with some great family time!

My Spring Break started on Monday the 5th.  Lily and I went to Omaha to see my friend Shannon and her baby, Gavin.

He was such a good baby and I even got to put him to sleep.  I am ready to snuggle my own baby and Lily loved making him smile.

Later we met Virgie at Babies R Us and bought some good stuff!  Then, we met Shannon, Gavin, and Hayley at Cheesecake Factory.  I miss those girls!

We stayed the night at Gigi's.

On Tuesday, Lily and I found a dresser for the baby's room at The Furniture Mart.  It wouldn't fit in the car, so we didn't get to bring it home yet, bummer.

We bought bedding for a boy and girl.  I also found outfits for both.

Wednesday was work day for me.  Lily watched the Lorax with her friends and I worked at the school.  I got a lot done, but I know there is more to do.  I have some good 'skeleton' plans until the end of the year!

Thursday ended up being a really good day.  Matt took the day off to be with me for my Doctor's appointment at the neurologist.  She confirmed that I probably had a migraine and that it was stress, sleep, and pregnancy related.  There is no saying it won't happen again, but since the MRI showed that there was no permanent damage, then I am in the clear.  It was a relief to hear that it wasn't something bigger.  Matt and I ate lunch and then looked at furniture for the upstairs.  We found a set!!!

We picked up Lily and went home to wait for the furniture to be delivered.  Thursday was my 32 weeks!  Lily talks about the baby all the time and gives it so many kisses. :)

We have now been using the basement because the TV and sound is hooked up and now we have our big sectional couch down there.  Our couch and love seat upstairs make our living room look so big.  It will take some getting used to, but I like it!

Friday marked the day of waiting.  The cable guy was to come between 8-12, but didn't come until 2:00.  Why does that always happen???  Well, it was a blessing in disguise because if forced me to buckle down and finish my Masters research paper.  I sent off the final section and hopefully I will get to present soon.  I am ready for it to be done!

This is how I found Lily watching T.V.  ha ha!

Saturday, Lily and I hung out at home and then went to a movie in Kearney with Grandpa.  We saw Big Miracle.  It was pretty good.  Matt went to Chris and Tara's to help Chris frame his basement.  When he got home we did some much needed grocery shopping.  Call me crazy, but I enjoy shopping as a family.  Walmart is crazy, but we have fun!

We made some yummy homemade pizza!

Sunday Lily got to cut the first chain off of our blue and pink countdown.  53 more days until our son/daughter brother/sister is here.  I would be thrilled with earlier, but I am not going to hold my breath.  Lily wanted to put the chain the baby's room.  It looks soooooo long, but I am sure it will go fast!  :)

Notice the baby clothing.  I couldn't help it, I had to get some outfits for both! :)

Sunday afternoon we went to Chances R in York for lunch with the whole Widdowson family.  It was nice to see everyone and fun to see the kids interact.  It was wonderful to see Jeni and her family during this tough time.  Nothing is better than being around those that love you!  My prayers are with the Holmes family.

I can't believe my Spring Break is over already.  It always makes me sad on Sunday night because I had such a good time spending quality time with Matt and Lily.  It really hit me that I will be a busy mommy soon and I need to enjoy this time with Lily.

I am going to be a Mommy of TWO!!!  Yay!!!

We were working machines!!!!

Originally Matt was going to be in North Dakota through out the weekend, so this was great!  We did a lot of work on the basement.  It has been bothering me that it was so unorganized downstairs.  I am so excited to have all this done.  It looks amazing and hard to believe that it was just 2x4s in January.

A little scare

Thursday started out as a normal day until recess.  When I brought my students back inside, I noticed I couldn't see very well to my right.  It seemed blurry.  I thought it was my contacts, so while my kids were doing centers, I washed my contacts with solution to see if that would work.  I continued to work with my students at the guided reading table.  I was giving myself vision tests by covering each eye.  I still couldn't see to my right.

Guided reading was over and I was setting up The Smurf movie for them to finish from the previous day.  This is when it started getting weird.  I was trying to get them to clean up, push in chairs, put computers away, etc.  I couldn't think of words like, "chair, computer, carpet, book box."  I tried to ask a student to put something away and said her name "Evlin."  The second I said her name it seemed weird and kids giggled.  I was confused.  They started watching the movie and I checked anything I could find that would have my kids' names on it.  I did have an Evlin!  Where was she, who was she?  I started looking at my kids trying to see if I remembered their names.  I remembered a few after a few moments of thinking.  Then another adult came in to tell me what she had done with my kids.  I told her something was wrong with me.  I must have sounded so silly, I couldn't think of any words I wanted to say.  I remember just giggling and hiding my face in humiliation.  What is happening?  My vision was back at this time, but I now was not remembering names and common words.

It was time for lunch and I lined them up, believe it or not with little to no talking.  I just had to point to things and they did it!  I must have trained them right!  ha ha!  At lunch I talked to my friends about how weird I was feeling.  I was convinced to call the doctor and they wanted me to come to the hospital right away.  So, in a frantic hurry, the school nurse took me to the hospital.

They immediately hooked me up to a fetal monitor.  At this time, I was feeling much better and could have a conversation.  Dr. Steinke ordered for me to have a MRI.  That came back normal.  I stayed at the hospital for what seemed like forever!  Mom and Dad came to be with me since Matt was in North Dakota.  Poor guy was worried sick and caught a flight as soon as he could.  They wanted me to see the eye doctor the next day.  He said my eyes were fine, no changes.  They are also wanting me to go to a Nuerologist this week to see what caused this.  I could be as little as a migraine that an aspirin a day should prevent or it could have been a small stroke.

This has been all very scary and weird for me.  Not once was I in pain, just in mass confusion.  So, at this time, I feel great!  I am scared that it will happen again.  So, we will see what the specialist says.  Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  It is weird to be on this end of the concern.
