State Fair 2015

We went to the State Fair the first Saturday after I ran the 5K.  We then went back the following day so Lily could dance with the Rubies.  Enjoy the picture overload!

Crabby guy because he couldn't go on the bumper cars.

We saw Nyla.

Pure joy!

We were that family trying to get through the midway with a wagon.  Ha ha.  Lily was tired of walking too!

This rollercoaster is their favorite.

Matt was better than me in taking pictures of the swings. :)  You will see mine later.  yikes

Lily

I guess everyone should have a crabby three year old picture, huh?!

Showing Hudson where Grandpa and Grandma live.

ha ha, they are in the middle.

Hud loves it!

Lily loves it! :)

Phew, I am done with August!!!  2 more months and I will be caught up!  :)

State Fair 5K

The week before the race, Erin asked me if I was running in the State Fair 5K.  I contemplated it but never did sign up.  After thinking about it and knowing I would have someone to run with, I signed up!  I have not ran with anyone before, and we both admitted that we might not stay with each other.  ha ha

As we ran, it felt good.  Our first mile was my fastest time.  Whoop whoop.  A little after mile 2, Erin and I split up.  I was feeling good, but I didn't have a huge kick at the end.  There was a girl I was eyeing and really wanted to beat her.  :(

After the race! :)  It was soo foggy.  I hope we can run together again sometime.  Our hubbies didn't go watch us (they were with the kids), so we sent them our results!

The first male marathon finisher!

We went to Ruffs for a celebratory drink.  The door was open, but they weren't really open.  The lady let us have one a few minutes early.  ha ha!  Erin was pretty sure we would get a medal, so we went back for the award ceremony.

2nd place in women's 30-34 5K.  I'm glad I have one more year in this age group. :)

Erin, 3rd in 35-39.  Great job Erin!

Running buddies!

I was close to my PR, but I really do feel like I know my speed now.  I think I'm hooked!

Play room progress

We have a skinny room behind our living room that we have been wanting to make into a play room. Only part of the room had studs and only one light.  Matt had to frame the outside walls and add some outlets and move the light so he could add another one.  He also had some "little" help at times. :)

Then the drywallers came while we were at work and gave us walls!

My turn to paint on the white primer.

We picked out two colors: orange and green.

The two small walls are going to be orange.

Now to start the long walls with the green.

She's holding the flashlight for him.

I have one coat of the orange and green done.  Now the chalkboard paint.

Miss Sassy pants! :)

These are the toys that are waiting to go into the room.

Getting closer

Adding details now!

Matt built a little fort.

With help of course.

Shelves

The Fun room!

I fit too!

We are not completely done, but this is useable right now.  We will be putting carpet down and the small orange wall behind the door will have floor to ceiling shelves.
