**Virgie's Kidney Transplant**

On January 24, 2017 Virgie was scheduled for her kidney transplant.  Our cousin Julie Ratka was donating her kidney.  How special and awesome!  Beckett and I left Monday evening and met them at a restaurant.  We were all thinking positive thoughts about the morning.

The night before the surgery.
Julie and Virg

Julie's surgery started around 7:30 or so and Virgie was after.  Everything seemed to go slow.  Waiting is never easy.

We got to sit in pre-op with Virg for awhile.

Trying to make time pass in the waiting room.

Love those eyes!

He was the best baby.  No one hardly knew he was in the waiting room all day.  He didn't cry at all.

Virgie and Julie's surgeries went very well and recovered for a bit and were sent to the same floor.  Their rooms were actually across the hall from one another.

We got to see Virg around 3:00.  She was pretty groggy but she perked up instantly she saw Beckett.  ;)

We left to eat lunch at the cafeteria.

I don't think Aunt Liza enjoyed Beckett at all.  LOL

We couldn't believe it...Julie was already up and walking to come see Virg.  She's amazing!

Beckett and I stayed with the Ferzelys.  (Matt did too!  He had traveling issues, so he was in Omaha!)  Delanie had a possible concussion, so she didn't go to school.  Little stinker.

She was looking real good and everything seemed to be just the way the wanted it.

I am sooo glad that the transplant went well.  She's 2.5 weeks out and doing well.  They are watching her creating level closely, but it is now going in the right direction.  I'm sure she is still sore, but the kidney is working!!!  Praise the Lord.  Thank you all for the prayers.
