Happy 4th Birthday Lily Jo!

We had our family over for Lily's birthday on Sunday the 13th after her dance program.  She picked a Tangled birthday party, so we did our best to find things to match.  She has been so excited for her birthday and we had been counting down the days.

We started by opening up presents.  Let's just say this little girl got more than she needs!  :)  Thank you very much!

This gift came in the mail from Great Grandma Darla.  It is beautiful, thank you!
I had so much fun shopping for Lily this year.  She now expresses herself so much that I know exactly what she wanted.  It was fun to see her expressions as she opened her gifts.

Lily loves to play 'hair cutter girl,' so now she has all her hair tools she needs.

She has been using her stroller as a vacuum when we are vacuuming, so I thought she needed her own!  :)

Right here she is saying "Sydney has this!"  Grandma got both the girls a cupcake necklace with a cupcake case for it.  She loves it!

Such a big gift for a little girl!  I mean big girl!  :)  I love her look right here.

Grandpa and Grandma Elsbury got her a table and chairs.  Lily loves to sit and play at theirs that they have in O'Neill, so now she has her own! :)

What a beautiful dress from Grandma's store!

Aunt Gigi was spot on with her gifts too!  She got her a microphone and a pack n' play for her dolls!

Guess who got this for Lily!  She always plays with the tractors at Gma and Gpa's, so now she can start her own farm.

Maverick and Maguire brought her a gift as well.  She now has a camo coat to go hunting with Daddy.  She was disappointed that she couldn't hunt with them this year.  He told her when she was 6 years old!  That will be fun for Daddy!  :)

After gifts, we had lunch.  I made Chicken Noodle Soup and mashed potatoes for the first time.  I will say they were actually very good.  Thanks to my mom for advice, I think I might try them again sometime! :)

Lily is giving Maverick his own private concert!

So we came in to watch also.  I have a great video of her singing "Who Says," but I am sorry it will not load.  She is such a little performer!

Lily and her Tangled cake!  The moment she has been waiting for!

We had a wonderful birthday party for Lily.  Everyone took off that evening and we did some of Lily's homework.  We had to decorate a turkey as a family.  I got out my craft tote and we put all sorts of stuff on it: feathers, puffy paint, glass, beads, corn, and marshmallows.
Then we had some fun with the marshmallows.  I have a cute video of Matt and Lily, but none of my videos will load.  It is frustrating.  Anyway, we had a fun family night with lots of giggles!

On Tuesday, the 15th, I had a doctor's appointment.  The baby is doing fine and its heart beat is 160 bpm.  I recorded it on my phone because Matt hasn't heard it yet.  I love listening to it.  It's so cute.  I tried to get it on here somehow, but that was not working either.  I am so excited to feel it move and have Matt and Lily feel it.  All is good!
Wednesday was Lily's actual birthday.  She took muffins and juice to preschool for snack and a small gift for her friends.  She also took cookies to her friends at Heather's.  She got to open one gift that morning.

We got her a calendar for all the upcoming events.  The concept of time has been difficult.  So, we will count down for Christmas, when preschool is, and most important, when the baby will arrive!!!

This is the birthday girl at preschool!  What a big girl!
After I picked Lily up from Heather's we went to the mall.  We enjoyed a cinnamon pretzel with caramel and then went to pick out a movie.  We met Daddy at Applebee's and had supper and then the staff sang Happy Birthday to Lily!  Again she was shy, but she didn't cry.  At home she had a few more presents to open and then Daddy and Lily made their awesome popcorn on the stove and we watched Zookeeper!

More polly pockets!

New purple snow boots along with some clothes!!!
Thank you lord for another great year with our daughter.  These four years have been a true blessing.  We have loved being her parents.  We are anxious to see her as a big sister.  When she hears the baby's heart beat, she says, "I think he wants out of your tummy!"  ha ha!

Lily's first dance show

Fonner Park was having Kids Day, so Lily's dance company was asked to perform there.  We invited everyone to come to her dance before her birthday party.  It was so fun to get her dressed up with make-up and all.  She did an excellent job.  Right before the music started, she looked out at the crowd and took a deep breath.  It was so cute!

What a beautiful girl!!!!
We are so proud of you Lily!

2011 Deer season

Opening morning, Mav shot his first deer!!!  He got an awesome 4 x 4!

What a kill!  Great job Mav!

It was extremely hard for them to hang the deer.  So, Matt used his pickup to hang him.

Look how huge he looks compared to Chris!

The boys stayed at the cabin both Friday night and then again on Saturday night.  Matt got his deer on Sunday morning.

He got a 5 x 5!

As I am blogging today, all the boys are in Arthur hunting.  Hopefully Chris can see his monster buck there!  So far they haven't gotten anything.

Lily came to school with me on a Saturday.  She loves to play with everything, draw on the marker board, get on the computer, use the small sink, look in their desks, put cubes together, and throw the ball with Daddy (when he comes).  So, today I asked her to draw a picture for my students.

Isn't this great!  She drew herself and wrote her name.  I am so proud of her.  She is learning a lot in preschool!  :)

Matt's 30th birthday party!

My hubby is officially 30!!!  I love being the young one!  :)  I threw a party for him on Saturday, November 5th for the Husker game.  We had a great time.  Before the party, Matt opened his gifts from me.

First clue:  A car

Second clue:  Oklahoma!

Third clue:  gun

Fourth clue:  boar  (I think he knows what his gift is!)
The last present had an envelope in it with the specifics of his gift.

He will be driving (car) to Oklahoma (Oklahoma pic) with Dave and Dick to hunt (gun) for wild hog (boar).

I can't believe I kept this gift a secret.  I don't know anything about hog hunting, so I was worried that I would be setting him up for a dud hunt, so we will see!  :)  I am sure they will have a good time, those 3 guys always do together.

The Nebraska vs. Northwestern game was at 2:30, so we had everyone meet us at Katy's bar in Doniphan.  Hosting parties is fun, but for some reason I get stressed out.  I think it went well and so many of Matt's friends came.  I am so thankful for everyone that helped make his 30th birthday special!

Hyvee's attempt to a hunting camo cake.  Yummy!

Even 30 year olds get to blow out candles!!! :)

The next many photos are of our great family and friends!

Eliza and Virgie watching the Huskers play terrible against Northwestern.  That was the only downer of Matt's party.  I wish they played better.

Hey, I didn't know Zach works at Katy's!  ha ha!

 Shots!

Scott and Dad discussing the terrible Husker game.  Sorry Scott, I had to post it!  ha ha!

Matt finished his night playing shuffle board.  This preggo mommy was tired, so I went home and let his friends take care of him!  :)  He had a great night!

Some other people had a long night too!!!!
On his actual birthday, we ate breakfast at Perkins with Tara and Chris.  Then we drove out to his deer stand.  It was a nice afternoon.  Later we grilled burgers for Chris's parents.  After everyone left, we all had a much needed nap.

What a fun weekend!!!!
