Our Vacay to SD, WY, and western NE

Matt needed to see the progress of the Pamidas going up in Custer, SD and Buffalo, WY, so Lily and I decided to take the drive with him. It was a little Elsbury family vacay (even though it was a lot of driving). Lily did an awesome job driving that far with us. I think she prefers Daddy's pickup so she can see out the window. We left GI on Tuesday morning and got to Custer around 5:30 or so. Along the way, we went through a state park with buffalo in it.

These were some of the neat rocks we saw during our drive.

See how happy she was! I think she was more patient on the long drive than Mommy was! At least that is what Daddy thinks. ha ha!

We got into our hotel and Matt went to see how the Pamida was coming along. Lily and I played in the hotel and she was happy to roll around on the floor and take a little nap. When Matt got back we ate supper at a steak house and then drove 30 minutes or so to Mount Rushmore. At night they have a ceremony thing and light up the faces. It was neat. I had never been there and Matt hadn't for a long time. Lily was tired and didn't exactly know why there were so many people standing and looking at rocks in the dark.

We got up early Wednesday morning, July 2nd (our 3rd anniversary) to drive to Buffalo, WY. Our excitement for this drive was seeing the forest that had many spots that had a fire and seeing all the antelope. They are absolutely everywhere. In some places that was the only sign of life we could see in Wyoming. :)

We stopped every 2-3 hours to stretch, eat, or play. Lily had fun sitting in her bebe pod in the middle of Daddy's pickup. We had fun posing with her too!

We thought it would be more fun for us and her if she could sit in the front with us for the rest of the drive.

Just joking!!!!

We did stop to shop once at an outlet store. Here Lily is riding a bear! I think she was just excited to get out of the carseat.

WYOMING! Boring! I'm sure there is an antelope somewhere in that picture. This is actually an exciting picture of Wyoming. I think we are almost into Nebraska!
