North Bend/Omaha weekend

We got to spend the weekend with my friend Shannon and her family!  We went to Ryan's parents' house on a lake on Saturday morning.  We hung out there all day!  It was relaxing and beautiful.

He did a little better with his life jacket on this time.

Fishing

My little fish.

:)

We are LOVING our summer!!!!  :)

Shan and her cute little boy Gavin.  He is 6 months older than Hudson.

Ryan got a fish on his pole.  He let Lily help him reel it in.  She didn't want anything to do with it once it was in.  I thought Hudson would like to see it...........

The fish flopped out of Ryan's hand and Hudson screamed and shook.  He was so afraid of the fish. :(

Trying out the paddle boat.  Lily's legs were too short, so Shan had to do it all!  ha ha

Hudson's favorite part.  The sand was hot up until the evening, so we didn't play in the sand until we were ready to eat.  We really need a sand box at our house.  Do you think Matt will let us get one?!

We then went to their house in Omaha to stay the night.  Thank you for the great hospitality Ryan and Shannon!  We really enjoyed your company and I sincerely hope we keep setting up dates to get together.

That morning we went to Aunt Jessica's.  Scott and Landon weren't there, but we did get to snuggle Braxton.

Hudson really wanted to give him big LOVES!

CUTE!

Hot July days

Where is July going?!?  We have had fun, but it has went way too fast!

Lately, we spend time in Hudson's room to watch the construction.

He loves to watch the big machines.

I am really trying to get him to show how old he is.  He knows I like it so he giggles and purposefully ignores me I think.  Silly boy....but I got a picture of him doing it once!

We had a picnic at the park.  It was HOT!!!  Then we went grocery shopping and cooled off! :)

Dentist time.  They said her teeth are GREAT!  Florence said her front tooth is a teeny teeny bit loose.  That is all Lily had to hear and she tells everybody.

Lily has also had swimming lessons in Hastings at night.  We have had great weather for that.

One night all 4 of us went swimming before Lily's lessons and then we got to watch her do her lessons and then we did the lazy river before the pool closed.  Lily is doing great at swimming and Hudson likes the water for the most part.

One day, we went and ate lunch in Kenesaw with Grandpa and Gigi.  Then we convinced Gigi to come swim with us in Shelton.  This pool is perfect for Lily.  She went on the slides ALL by herself, many times!  She really wanted to go on the diving boards.  We brought her life jacket just in case.

Her first time on the diving board.  Perfect!  She was eyeing some older girls going on the high dive.  She asked if she could do it.  This mommy was nervous.  I caved but said she could do NO TRICKS.

Her first jump of many!!!!  What a brave girl! :)  This was the pool I went to growing up.  It was fun to be back.  I wasn't always brave to go on the high dive.  Great job Lily!!!

Gigi tried to get him asleep.  He rested, but never fell asleep.  He had fun in the pool too, but he was ready for a nap.

We hope to go there again before summer is over.

1st Annual ~Widdowson Cousins Jeep Ride~

Day #1

When John bought a Jeep, Matt and him were already planning the first Jeep ride.  Then, when they discovered Ryan and Brian have Jeeps, it was like Christmas!  :)  So, the first day we were going to Genoa to ride on the Loup and then go on some trails.

John was able to trailer both of them.  That was awesome because it isn't much fun to get to your destination at only 55 mph.

We arrived at Ryan and Julie's and then met up with a bunch of their friends at the Loup.

We thought it was funny, because we stopped right away under the bridge.  This group likes to stop a lot and chat. :)

Mav and Lily went to check the water along with Guire and Jackson.

I love when the water is just deep enough to put my foot into it.  It wasn't too deep though.

We stopped at this dam.  The kids were able to swim for awhile because we just parked all the jeeps and hung out.

Laurie and I trying to get our tan.

Bury Lily time!

Jeep talk....ha ha

I really enjoyed the Loup.  The sand was soft and white.

We headed back the other way.......

Poor John!

Everybody stopped while he got pulled out.  Leave it to the rookie to get stuck.  ha ha.  Our first time Jeepin' a few years ago was worse.  We got stuck many times!

Time for a photo shoot.

Lily and Tricia.  Tricia is my cousin Marci's little girl.  Lily and her are just a couple months apart.

We then went to the trails.  A Genoa farmer that loves to Jeep has created trails on his land.  It is surround by trees and they are really steep.  I will be honest, I was very nervous.  We were able to make it up and down all of them.  Lily actually enjoyed them.  John's Jeep didn't make it up one of the hills and rolled down fast into a tree.  It bent his back door.  :(

This cross is at the top of the hill.

Again, they stopped to chat.  ha ha!  We were all getting tired and hungry.  We ate at Ryan's and then headed home because we knew we had another full day of Jeepin' in the morning.  John, Laurie, and the boys stayed with us too!

Day #2

We loaded up the Jeeps again and went to Central City.  There was a Poker Run that we knew about....so that was the plan!

The used the winch to try to bend back John's door so they could at least get to their cooler. ha ha!

Our first stop!  Hudson loved loved loved the sand.  He was so easy if you just give him a bucket and shovel and set him down.  The kids all loved it!

We went to the card stops and got our cards.  Matt was doing good, he had three 6's.  The Ferzely's were on their way to Mom and Dad's, so I convinced them to come and get in with us.  We met them along the river and they were able to fit in the 4 Jeeps.

Delanie learning to drive in water!

Mav was itching to drive both days.

Delanie and Hudson loved playing together.

Do you like our umbrella?  Hudson was able to stay nice and cool.  He even took a nap again. :)

This is how Matt relaxes!

I love this picture!  They don't look like they are having fun at all, do they?

Pretend drivin!

Eliza, me, Laurie, and Julie

I didn't put a swim diaper on him all the time, I would just let the regular diaper balloon up, ha ha!  So, Matt rinsed him off because he was covered in sand.  :)

A successful Widdowson Cousin Jeep Ride!
