Pumpkin Patch

On October 8th we went to a Pumpkin Patch outside of Hastings. We got there a little later than we would have liked, so we weren't there very long. Lily still had a great time and so did we.

Instantly, Lily was running ahead of us shouting, "I like this, I want to do this, Pumpkins, Mommy, Daddy, come on!" I love watching her get so excited over things. She is so appreciative and full of life!!!

The big potato sack slide!!

She is already off and running to go back up the hill to go on it again!!!

We then went down the zip line. She yelled (with glee) the whole way down.

Lily has become more brave as she gets older. We were very surprised she wanted to jump into the straw.

She did it!!! It wasn't her favorite thing to do, but we were very proud of her for trying.

Goats!

Nothing is more precious than watching Daddy holding his little girl's hand.

"Neigh!" "Moo!"

It was getting dark and they were kicking us out! We had a wonderful time!

Doniphan Fall Festival

The perks of living in a small town: Small town festivities. We went to the town parade that morning and Lily had a great time. At first she was cold and nervous to get in front of people and get candy. By the end of the parade, she was running out and giggling when she got a handful of candy.

It was nice to be able to walk to the parade and be so close to home.

Fire trucks always bring back memories for me! I will never tell Lily to ride in a fire truck at a parade! Nothing but bad would happen. ha ha!

Where are the smiles?

Noodercycles!!

That is what Lily calls them. We love to hear her say some of her words incorrectly and this is one of them. For the small town, there were actually a lot of noodercycles!

Daddy got a free ride back home.

Playing with the Elsbury's

I am desperate need of time to catch up on my blogging! Holy cow, I am going way back to September. I really enjoy blogging and updating everyone on what is happening with us. Life has seemed to take over and not dealt me much time. Urgh! So, here it goes!

Aunt Chantele with her two favorites!!! We went to Atkinson to Wonderchecks for a picnic/get together for the football game. They had karoake afterwards in the shed. We got to see a lot of the Elsburys we hadn't seen in awhile.

Chillin' out in their jammies.

It was so nice out. We played outside for most of the afternoon.

Who would have guessed that a gravel pile would be so much fun?!?

Grandpa Mark was so excited to help the kids roast marshmallows. It was a hit!

A hit for all!!!

Ahhh, Lily you have a little something, right ......... there!

Fun with Neighbors

Matt finally has a friend that also owns a jeep. Our neighbors, Josh and Holly have a jeep also. Josh hasn't taken it into the river like Matt, but he likes to drive it around. Our two families went out to the Platte River with Oasis one afternoon.

Lily and her friend Morgan!

Cheese!!!

Great Wolf Lodge!!!

Getting ready to go to Great Wolf Lodge! It was the first game of the Husker season and we were all dressed in Husker Red. Lily was sitting by her tennis shoes that were drying on the deck. We were all so excited to see everyone in KC. Dad, Virgie, John, and Mav went to the game, so they came later that night.

No grass, just wait til you see how it looks now!

We swam a little on Saturday and it was very relaxing.

We went out to eat that night with Laurie, Guire, Eliza, Scott, Delanie, Caden, Syd, and Mom. It is always fun when we get together.

On Sunday morning, we were out to the pool.

Lily and I basking in the sun!

Lily and Uncle John. They just let her tred water out there with her life jacket on. She loved it!

Basketball

It is so tough swimming all day! ha ha

Relaxing, Widdowson style! ha ha Matt (Lily) Scott, Eliza, me, Laurie!

Lily gettin' some sweet icecream from Grandma!

This place is so neat. Lily is still to little to enjoy the big play set, but probably next year!

Tattoo time again! Lily got a butterfly this year.

Tattoos!!!

We missed you Mav and Guire.

Cool dude!

I love this tradition going to Great Wolf Lodge every year. It is nice to have a plan in place to relax and be with family. The kids have so much fun and us adults can relax and visit.

We love you Mullen John!!!

State Fair

Nebraska State Fair was in Grand Island this year. We went with the Boslaus to the State Fair. Before we left, we went to meet the newest addition to the Eickoff family, GRACE! Grace was born the end of July. She is a cutie!

Off to the fair! We were there just a couple hours in the evening. We saw animals and ate supper. We didn't go on any rides, what Lily didn't know won't hurt her! ha ha! She did ask to go on the ferris wheel, but it was getting too late. Next year, we will HAVE to, I'm sure!

Seeing the llamas at the petting zoo.

ZEBRA? At a petting zoo? ha ha

We saw the ponies and Lily wanted to ride them. I am so proud of her for getting on one. She has never done that before. At the circus, awhile back, she was too scared! It is so much fun to watch her do something for the first time!

Too much walking at the state fair. Good thing Daddy will hold her!

My favorite part was the baby barn. We saw baby lambs and pigs. There were a couple cows that were ready to have their calves. Lily and Ady liked looking at the baby animals.

How cute!

We were watching the horse and carriage teams. It was entertaining.

It's getting dark, we better drive home!! ha ha!

Thanks for a fun time at the State Fair, Boslaus!

To top it all off, I got cotton candy and Asia got a funnel cake. The fair isn't a fair with out the junk food!! :)

2010-2011 1st graders

My 6th year of teaching is off and running! I am enjoying these kiddos! They are a very caring class and its to see them interact.

I can't believe I am on my 6th year of teaching. My first class are now middle schoolers (6th grade!). That is very hard to believe. I will always know how old they are because Maverick is their age. I have learned so much the last 6 years and I am about half done with my Masters degree. That will be a great feeling when I am done.
