HUDSON IS WALKING!!

On my vacation I receive the cutest text ever!  On June 18th, this is what I got.....

I was so sad I missed it.  Especially because I have been with him non-stop for most of the summer.  He had been able to stand alone, but was never wanting to take a step.  Heather had said he took more steps on concrete because he didn't want to crawl (that hurts!), but wanted to crawl inside on the carpet.

So, I was making him walk as soon as I got him on Friday!

13 months 2 weeks---he is finally a walking man!!!  :)

Father's Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend with Matt.  He got to do some of his favorite things (actually what Lily thinks is his favorites): mowing, grilling, and jeeping!

Matt had to tighten some things under the Jeep, so this is where he kept them to keep them out of the way.  It was tricky getting the Jeep out with our road torn up.  We had to drive in our lawn (uh oh!).  We ate lunch at Arby's and then got into the Platte by Doniphan.

What a sweet Daddy!

Hudson loved it!

Stuck!  For the 1st time.....

2nd time......

3rd time.......

So Lily had a lot of time to play.  She tried to catch minnows....

And found as many flat rocks as she could.

The water was perfect for Hudson, but not deep enough for Lily.  She still had fun floating down on her back though.

He gave her a sweet hug!

During the 7 times getting stuck in quick sand.... Hudson finally fell asleep.  We would get unstuck and then right away get stuck again.  We made a big circle in the process of getting unstuck.  Once we were going good we didn't dare stop because the sand would just suck us back in.  Matt managed to get us unstuck every time with just boards and a jack.  What a man! :)  (*he ordered a winch the next week, ha ha!)

Such happy kids!!!

On Sunday morning, we let Daddy sleep in.  I made a sausage breakfast casserole.  The kids were quiet, as much as they could be.  Lily couldn't wait to give Daddy his gifts.  He opened them as soon as he got up! :)

Funny kid.

Hudson's card was a baby tooting to a song.  ha ha

Lily's card was the All Star song.

She drew him a picture of her and him by the Jeep and a deer crossing the road.  She wanted to get his favorite things in the picture.

A console for his Jeep.  Happy Father's Day Matt!

We then went swimming at the water park in Hastings.  Daddy's got in for free!!!

We had a great day with you Matt!  I couldn't have asked for a better Daddy for Lily and Hudson.  He is so loving and patient.  He sets a good example for them.  They both light up when he gets home from work.  We LOVE YOU!

2013 Henry Doorly Zoo trip

Last weekend we wanted to go the zoo.  The weather on Saturday was supposed to be rainy in Omaha, so we decided to stay in a hotel that night and do the zoo on Sunday.  We got to our favorite hotel and had snacks at happy hour and then went swimming.

Love my kids!!!

We have so much fun together.

I didn't get any pictures of us swimming.  Hudson is still a little unsure of deep water.  Lily is becoming more confident in her swimming and she LOVES her goggles. :)

That night we thought would be a disaster since we forgot Hudson's pac n play and his blankets.  Yikes!  The hotel had a pac n play, Phew, and we covered him with a towel and gave him his small monkey blanket.  He actually fell asleep and stayed asleep all night.  I can't believe we forgot his blankets, he giggles when we take him to bed just so he can snuggle and suck on his blankets.  I guess this means that he isn't as attached to them as we thought.  :)

On Sunday morning, it was RAINING!!!  Again!  So, we let some time pass at Cabela's.  It was still raining, but we went to the zoo anyway.  Good thing a lot of exhibits are inside.

The butterflies were everywhere, even on ME!

This was Matt's favorite part of the zoo.

I think snakes were Hudson's favorite.  We wouldn't get close to the snakes and he wanted to touch the glass.  Ick!

The Gorillas were my favorite.  Around the corner from this, I sat down on the side with Hudson and Lily.  A little gorilla came up and sat with his back to me agains the glass.  I knocked a little and he put his hand with mine.  The kids were interested too.  All of a sudden he moved fast and made a funny face right at our level and hit the glass.  Lily screamed, Hudson grabbed me, I jumped, but could not stop laughing!!  That was my favorite! :)

Hudson wanted nothing to do with the Gorilla statue.

Lily's favorite was the little yellow monkeys.  I didn't get a picture of them. :(

There are 4 baby lion cubs.  They were all sleeping until we came up.  The Mommy's are a little protective I think.

The Mountain Lion (Puma) paced back and forth with Lily.

Although it rained the whole time we were there, we still had a good time.  I think I love the zoo the most out of my whole family.  I am so glad they were good sports through the rain.
