Busy weekend

We went to O'Neill and Atkinson last weekend to help Matt's family with Grandma Mary's auction. On Saturday we loaded up boxes and furniture from Mary's house to take to Stuart for the auction. Lily was with us, so I actually did more chasing her than helping. Emily was in O'Neill with a friend watching Landon, Molly, and Slayde, so we thought adding Lily would be a lot. So, it worked out. Lily was a tired girl, but I think everybody else was more tired. Mary had a lot of stuff. Lily got a few dolls that Mary made and Jackie played with when she was a little girl. After a few loads, we were finally done. We went to Matt's parents house and Lily got to play with the kids for a little while.

Landon absolutely loves getting his picture taken.

Molly and Lily eating supper and Aunt Emily's surprise cupcakes.
Molly is only a month older than Lily.

The pink chair was a popular item.

A little showing off that she has the chair now.

This is Lily not wanting to share the chair.

I really wanted to get a cute picture of the girls. They would not cooperate. :)

Landon was taking a bath and I wanted Lily to take one also. She didn't want to get in with him, but then this is how I found her. They were chatting it up. So, then she wanted in. They were in there a long time getting wrinkly. Fun, fun!

Swimming

Lily and I went swimming with Shelley and Faith and Asia and Adysen at Hastings. We had heard that their pool was great for younger kids. It was fun and Lily loved the little slide. She could do it all by herself. The weather wasn't great and we got rained out.

What have we been up to?

I can't believe the summer is going by so fast. It seems like it just started. Matt left for Texas on Thursday morning, so Lily and I went out to visit Guire at Gma and Papa's. He got to stay there for a week also.

Guire wanted to eat with Lily, so they are sharing the high chair. At times, Lily was taking the food off of his plate. She also thought he was a foot rest. ha ha! That is what cousins are for, right?

Virgie has been helping Dad and Mom by working in the fields and irrigating. So, we thought we would relax and get a drink. It was nice to just talk and we got to see a new bar.

This is what we saw when we got home. How sweet!

The next morning, we just puttered around for a little while and played. We missed the trip to the cafe, but thats okay.

Where's Lily?

There she is!

I have other pictures of Papa with the shirt on his head and Aunt Gigi with it on her head. Lily thought that was hilarious.

Virgie, Guire, Lily, and I then went shopping for the afternoon. Guire even had money to spend. :) When we got back, Grandma was back from work. We had a great supper and then Lily and I decided to go home. It is always nice to sleep in your own bed. Matt was also going to be home the next day, so we wanted to be ready.

Matt got home on Saturday and told me all about Dallas and Fort Worth. They went to a huge bar that had a mechanical bull and a rodeo ring where real cowboys can ride bulls. There was also a country singer there. Maybe I will get to go there sometime.

We were thinking about our weekend and what we should do and decided we should go camping. We had been saying that we wanted to take Lily, but it never worked out. So, we just checked the campsites around here and they were full, so we went to a county park. It actually worked out great.

Lily liked the tent. She wanted to unzip, zip, unzip, get out zip it up, unzip, get in, etc. Needless to say, Matt was trying to get her to stop because of the mosquitoes.

Matt cooking over our huge fire!!!

This is the life!

The park had lots of playgrounds to choose from, so we walked around the park after we ate our campfire meal. Yum!

Daddy and I were done playing, but Lily wasn't. Who are the parents here? ha ha We walked back to the tent to get the fire going again and to hopefully lay her down for the night.

This is Lily trying to convince me to let her play with my camera. She kept saying "cheeeese" (that is what she calls the camera). Poor girl is getting tired.

So, we went into the tent to show her where she would be sleeping. We were hoping we could then go back out and sit by the fire. Uhhh, no. Lily was all over the tent playing, talking, singing and giving us tons of kisses. I bet she said "Night night mommy, night night Daddy" about 30 times that night. Needless to say, we didn't go back outside and we didn't get that great of sleep either.

We woke up to the birds chirping, especially turkeys.

Matt cooked us breakfast on his new cooking stove we got him for Father's Day. It was scrumptious.

Lily wanted to sit in the jeep while we cleaned up camp. I think she wants to take it for a spin. She is just like her Daddy! :)

We are almost done with our upstairs bathroom, so that means Lily hasn't gotten to take a bath in awhile, only showers. So, I just thought I would put her in the kitchen sink. It was so much fun to watch. She enjoyed it and our kitchen didn't get too wet. I am anxious to post the pictures of our bathroom when it is finished.

20 months!

Lily is 20 months old today! Oh my goodness! I can't believe it. She is no longer a baby even though Matt and I still call her 'baby.'

Happy 20 months Lily!!!

Matt is in Dallas, TX right now for work while Lily and I kick it here in G.I. We don't get to go anywhere exciting! boo hoo!

Talking, talking, talking

I am having so much fun with Lily this summer. She has been talking so much. She loves to name off the people in pictures and her friends from daycare. Lily also sings along with the ABC's (some of the letters) and tries to count to 10. It is amazing to watch her learn. School is coming too soon and I am trying to soak it all in.

Chantele is home!

On Sunday, we drove to O'Neill. Chantele was back for a week or so from Chicago. We just hung out and visited and grilled steak. Grandma Darla came out also. It was nice to see Chantele. We haven't seen her since Christmas. She is doing well and loving it there. Matt and I need to get out there soon to see her.

Lily is eating watermelon (again) with Aunt Chantele.

Festivities continue on Fourth of July!!!

We went to Gibbon on Saturday morning for the parade. It was nice to have the whole family there. Times like these make me miss Mullen so much. He would have had fun at the parade and playing with his brothers and cousins.

Maverick, Lily, Sydney, Caden, Maguire, and Delanie
They are all waiting so patiently for the parade to start. Their empty bags are begging for candy!

Maverick helped Lily during the parade. I thought the was so cute how she is resting her hand on his leg. What a good big cousin.

Guire is another good big cousin. Syd and Lily look a little tired and confused.
"Why are we sitting on the side of the street when our Mommy always yells at us when we get close to the street?"

The Widdowson grandkids showing respect as the military men go by with the American Flag!

CANDY!!!

Lily's first experience with a clown. :)

Grandma and Lily after the parade

Aunt Gigi and Lily (Lily is eating one of her many tootsie rolls)

Doesn't Papa look pretty with Lily's necklace on?

Our church always serves free ice cream after the parade, so we had to make sure we went there. Matt, Gigi, and I walked with Lily, Syd, and Mav to the church. Of course the kids all got ice cream.

We went back to the farm and ate lunch. Dad, John, and Scott went golfing. Matt took the three boys in the Jeep to go muddin. Us girls stayed home and relaxed. When the golfers got home, they hadn't seen Matt and the boys yet. The plan was that he was going to meet them up at the golf course. So, we all got worried, because Matt was out muddin for a few hours now. He was not answering his phone and the worse case scenarios were running through our heads. I finally got a hold of him and he said they just got unstuck and were on their way home.

Wow!!! Mud from head to toe!!

Matt is telling Dad the whole story.

Caden, Guire, and Mav

Lily and Syd didn't really care about the mud covered boys. They managed to crawl up in the T-Rex all by themselves.

Matt and the boys! They were filthy. They said they had a good time. Caden fell asleep in the Jeep when they were stuck. How cute!

Lily in the T-Rex. She would not get out, so Grandpa got in with her. Watch the videos below.

Again, I wish the weather was better. There were a few times that it was sprinkling on us. Its not supposed to do that on the Fourth of July! We lit fireworks in the driveway and also watched the ones above town. Lily really liked the fireworks. I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth!
