I can't believe the summer is going by so fast. It seems like it just started. Matt left for Texas on Thursday morning, so Lily and I went out to visit Guire at Gma and Papa's. He got to stay there for a week also.
Guire wanted to eat with Lily, so they are sharing the high chair. At times, Lily was taking the food off of his plate. She also thought he was a foot rest. ha ha! That is what cousins are for, right?
Virgie has been helping Dad and Mom by working in the fields and irrigating. So, we thought we would relax and get a drink. It was nice to just talk and we got to see a new bar.
This is what we saw when we got home. How sweet!
The next morning, we just puttered around for a little while and played. We missed the trip to the cafe, but thats okay.
Where's Lily?
There she is!
I have other pictures of Papa with the shirt on his head and Aunt Gigi with it on her head. Lily thought that was hilarious.
Virgie, Guire, Lily, and I then went shopping for the afternoon. Guire even had money to spend. :) When we got back, Grandma was back from work. We had a great supper and then Lily and I decided to go home. It is always nice to sleep in your own bed. Matt was also going to be home the next day, so we wanted to be ready.
Matt got home on Saturday and told me all about Dallas and Fort Worth. They went to a huge bar that had a mechanical bull and a rodeo ring where real cowboys can ride bulls. There was also a country singer there. Maybe I will get to go there sometime.
We were thinking about our weekend and what we should do and decided we should go camping. We had been saying that we wanted to take Lily, but it never worked out. So, we just checked the campsites around here and they were full, so we went to a county park. It actually worked out great.
Lily liked the tent. She wanted to unzip, zip, unzip, get out zip it up, unzip, get in, etc. Needless to say, Matt was trying to get her to stop because of the mosquitoes.
Matt cooking over our huge fire!!!
This is the life!
The park had lots of playgrounds to choose from, so we walked around the park after we ate our campfire meal. Yum!
Daddy and I were done playing, but Lily wasn't. Who are the parents here? ha ha We walked back to the tent to get the fire going again and to hopefully lay her down for the night.
This is Lily trying to convince me to let her play with my camera. She kept saying "cheeeese" (that is what she calls the camera). Poor girl is getting tired.
So, we went into the tent to show her where she would be sleeping. We were hoping we could then go back out and sit by the fire. Uhhh, no. Lily was all over the tent playing, talking, singing and giving us tons of kisses. I bet she said "Night night mommy, night night Daddy" about 30 times that night. Needless to say, we didn't go back outside and we didn't get that great of sleep either.
We woke up to the birds chirping, especially turkeys.
Matt cooked us breakfast on his new cooking stove we got him for Father's Day. It was scrumptious.
Lily wanted to sit in the jeep while we cleaned up camp. I think she wants to take it for a spin. She is just like her Daddy! :)
We are almost done with our upstairs bathroom, so that means Lily hasn't gotten to take a bath in awhile, only showers. So, I just thought I would put her in the kitchen sink. It was so much fun to watch. She enjoyed it and our kitchen didn't get too wet. I am anxious to post the pictures of our bathroom when it is finished.
