Great Grandma Darla's birthday and the New House!

On Friday, the 20th, we left for O'Neill. When we got to Grandpa and Grandma's they were very anxious to see us. Lily was shy for the first hour, but then warmed up and started showing off. Mark, Jackie, and Emily were ready to play with her for the weekend.

In the morning, we relaxed and got ready to head to Atkinson for Great Grandma Darla's 80th birthday. It was nice to see Matt's family. We hadn't seen a lot of them since last Christmas. All the cousins have definitely done their part in expanding the Elsbury family. See all of the great grandkids below.

I think this is most of them. Getting the picture was a feat. I think the youngest is 9 months and the oldest is 7. Cute picture!

Darla's birthday was at the community center, so there was a huge room that no one was using. The kids loved running around in their where ever they wanted. Lily had a great time. Darla had a great turn out. She looks good and was happy to see everyone.

Here is Lily comforting Landon in the suburban. We got to see how much of a caring soul she is. It was adorable. She was saying "dare, dare." Like "there there Landon, its okay."

Papa Mark laying on the floor with the kids.

Aunt Emily, Lily, and Shadow. By the end of the weekend, Lily had warmed up to Shadow. She would sign "dog" and lean forward to pet her.

Land and Lily playing in the sun room. They are going to love all this room to run and play. So will us parents! ha ha.

Grandma Jackie and Lily posing for a picture while Daddy and Papa were shooting Daddy's new guns. Daddy was excited to get a couple of his Grandpa Ray's guns and had to try them out.

The kitchen.

A short look around the house.

Aunt Emily and Lily playing in the kitchen and laundry room.

They just got their carpet in this week and the kitchen counter was finished. So, the house is pretty much ready to be moved into. It looks great! They are going to enjoy it so much. All of the rooms are painted in neat colors. Emily's is bright red with the closet wall and closet a yellow color. Maybe we will be at the new house for Easter! :)

We then took Landon home on Sunday with us. We had a good weekend up in O'Neill. Back to the work week. Matt went on Monday morning to Wyoming. He finally came back on Thursday. Lily and I were bored with out him. Especially when mommy falls asleep on the couch at 9:00. Lily had her 15 month check up on Tuesday. She is 32 inches tall and weighs 26 pounds. Dr. Steinke was glad to see Lily talking, signing, and walking. She said we have a healthy little girl!!!!

I'm so Cool!!!

Lily was searching through my purse and found my sunglasses. She loved walking around in them and showing off her dancing moves.

She wanted to take the glasses on and off and started bending them, so I found her glasses and she was just as thrilled with her own. She didn't like them during the summer, but now we found her new toy! Isn't she so cool?

This has been Daddy and Lily's new position lately. Lily just gets so tired and both of us love snuggling up with her.

Monday and Tuesday night I had parent-teacher conferences, so they became good buddies. They were two very long days and I am so glad they are over.

Yesterday, Lily and I went to visit Papa. He had his left knew scoped on Tuesday. He is doing well, he said its just sore and stiff. I think he is just getting bored. Grandma came soon after from work. While we were there, I spotted a mouse. Anybody that knows me, knows that I truly hate mice and they are on the top of my list of things that I am scared of. I don't think I wrote on here that there has been one in my classroom, have I? Yeah, gross! Anyway, I set a trap where I had seen it and soon after we left, Mom called and told me they got it. Ewwwww!

Today (Friday) I get the day off. It just happened to be the day that it keeps snowing and we might have possibly had a snow day. Awww man!

Lily even thinks she is cool with a mowhawk. The downside of having her hair up all day. Her and I are just enjoying lounging around today. Daddy is working in Colorado and we're hoping he will be able to make it home today. I hope the roads aren't too bad.

Cheese!

Aunt Gigi came to babysit

Last week was busy at school and then followed by a wedding over the weekend. My first graders had their V-Day party on Friday the 6th and then I left the mess at school and went to get Lily. On Fridays, I am so ready to get out of school!! :) Virgie was coming that evening to watch Lily while Matt and I went to a rehearsal supper for Hilary Callahan and Dan Bolling. Lily was great for Gigi, but a little tired from playing outside that day. (Lily's going to be so much fun outside this summer, she loves it!) Anyway, we surprised Virgie by bringing Jeff and Lance home with us that night. With some drinks and Mario Kart, we made it a late night.

Lily was the first to wake up on Saturday, weird! ha ha. We puttered around the house that morning playing before we got ready for the wedding.

Lily likes playing with shoes, so Gig helped her tie them up.

The wedding was in Wood River and Hilary had asked me to be the Guest Book attendant. Hilary is such a great friend, and I was honored to be able to do that for her. So, while Matt and I were getting ready, Virgie was playing beauty parlor with Lily. She has such curly hair, and it looked adorable.

Where did she get this look from? ha ha!

Our beautiful little girl.

Off to the wedding. We should have gotten a family photo, since we were all "doodooed" up.

Lily was not thrilled to be sitting in a church for the whole wedding. Matt walked with her outside and sat in the car for most of the service. Hilary was beautiful and the wedding was great. I wish wonderful memories for Dan and Hilary.

The reception followed in GI, and Lily came with us. She was wanting to walk anywhere that we weren't. She did not have a morning or afternoon nap and she is majorly teething, so we had a crabby baby on our hands. Finally Grandma came and took her to Gibbon to spend the night. They were so excited to get to play with her and take her to church. Virgie got to watch her Again! They say she was just wonderful and was hamming it up during church.

We met them on Sunday afternoon at the Super Bowl, bowling alley for the belated Widdowson Christmas. Most of the aunts, uncles, and cousins were there. We missed John, Laurie, Mav, and Guire. Matt bowled and said that he does better on the Wii. I was trying to calm a sleepy little girl.

Sydney Lynn! Her and Lily had a great time walking around with one another.

Aunt Gigi and the girls. Then, my camera died. OOops.

Mario kart

Lily loves to play Mario Kart with Daddy.
